The Coachella of Fitness; The Biggest Fitness Craze coming to Australia in 2019.

This new fitness craze, tagged as the coachella of fitness (without the drugs) is going to be huge in 2019.

America’s wacky fitness trend – a three-hour dance rave at 5 o’clock in the morning, is coming to Australia.

Daybreaker, an early morning, three-hour dance rave fitness event, has announced it will launch in Sydney.

The fitness craze has been a major global sensation in 25 cities including Paris, London, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and New York, and its Australian debut has Aussie fans very excited.

The concept behind Daybreaker was hatched in 2013 by American entrepreneurs Radha Agrawal, co-founder of period underwear line THINX, and Matthew Brimer, co-founder of global tech and business education institution, General Assembly.

The goal was to create a vibrant and fun community teaching people that they don’t need alcohol or drugs or the anonymity of night time to let their hair down and have a sweaty dance session.

December 2013 marked the first Daybreaker event in Union Square, New York City, and has since expanded to America, Europe and Asia.

Daybreaker hosts events that go from 5am to 8am, and each event is a three-hour fitness rave, with one hour of yoga and two hours of dancing, both freestyle and instructed (also with the option to buy tickets for just the yoga section or just the dance rave).

The fitness is interwoven with activities designed to create connections with the other participants and start your day off in a positive mindset.

It’s the Coachella of fitness, with some attendees wearing costumes for the occasion, and live bands and DJ’s doing sets over the course of the three hours alongside the fitness instructors.

Tickets are US $25-$35 (that’s roughly $35 – $62 AUD), and the events have been known to sell out fast.

The events are open to, and attended by, all ages. The first event will be held when 2500 Aussies sign up to their event mailing list.

Daybreaker now has over 350, 000 members worldwide and have held nearly 200 events.
