Don’t be Such a Stress Head: New Gadget to Help Reduce Stress

We road test the new PIP stress tracker, which assist in measuring stress levels throughout the day.

The new PIP stress tracker helps measure your stress levels throughout the day, in the palm of your hand. All you need is a smartphone and the new PIP mini sensor.

When you get stressed, there are certain changes to the electrical properties of your skin. The PIP stress tracker records these changes when you hold the teardrop shaped wireless device between you thumb and first finger.

By doing this, the PIP’s inbuilt sensors read how the blood is circulating under your skin and how busy your sweat glands are working. Taken together, these two readings give a measurement on how stressed out you are.

The idea is to watch a moving graph on your smartphone. The graph fluctuates between 3 colours; Red for high, Orange for medium and Green for stress free.

The device itself is small and very lightweight, making it easy to carry around in your handbag without it feeling like excess baggage.

You can find yourself being super competitive with the device in an attempt to prove that you can in-fact be stress free, which of course then increases your stress.

This handy device is definitely a good start for anyone looking to better manage their stress, and a lot of fun.

You can now download a new app for the PIP device ‘Loom’, it provides a mixture of tranquil imagery and music to help you bring your stress levels down.
