Look Better Post-Iso With These Lockdown Beauty Tips

Bondi Beauty Team

Habits the BB team are incorporating during isolation to emerge their best self.

ESSENTIAL OIL PERFUMES

Tara McKenzie

BB Writer Tara says: One thing I’ve incorporated to bring some calm and sensory triggers into my life during lockdown are essential oil perfumes. When I am working, I like to use a perfume by Serene Body Health, which is a small business in Melbourne. The perfumes are all handmade by the Founder Nina in her home.

My favourite is the scent GROUND which has earthy base notes of frankincense and vetiver to create emotional balance, clarity and relaxation, while top notes of coriander and grapefruit uplift you. While, the perfume itself smells great, I’ve found using scent as a trigger for ‘work mode’ has been great at enhancing my productivity when working from home.

In the same vein, I’ve also been using essential oil sleeping mists in my bedroom at night to relax my body and mind in the evening.

BEAUTY FROM THE INSIDE

Renae Leith-Manos

BB Founder Renae says: I am taking vitamins and protein powders in a smoothie every day and trying all of the products I never had time to try before – it is an absolute joy.

I intend to emerge from the crisis looking my absolute best in every sense, and feeling fantastic. Vitamins and protein powders have minerals and amino acids that help my body recover after exercise and improve my overall sense of well-being.

My life was so busy before I never made time to truly commit to my skin and my health in the long term, but I am now.

HAIR AND SKIN DETOX

Beauty editor Rebecca says: I’m going to be detoxing my hair and skin by incorporating no heat hairstyling and no makeup. Although I still use a little foundation for stepping out to the shops, I have completely stopped wearing lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara and bronzer. My skin is so thankful for it.

My hair has really appreciated the no heat styling. Even when you use all the right products, there is a certain amount of stress the hair still endures with all that styling, so it’s nice to give it a break and let things be a little more natural.

NEW LOOKS AND PRODUCTS

Zoe Bradbury

BB writer Zoe says: During lockdown, I’ve had a lot more time to experiment. From trialling new products such as Magnetic False Lashes, to at home laser kits, I’ve been loving experimenting with these new products and procedures that take a bit more time to get used to.

I’ve also been loving watching YouTube tutorials, such as the Vogue’s videos of Vogue’s celebrity makeup tutorials. Most recently, I loved learning how to do Jessica Alba’s smoky eye routine from her Vogue video.

SKIN PAMPER

Anisha Rapthi

BB Writer Anisha says: During lockdown, I have paid way more attention to my skin and hair needs. I’m constantly pampering myself with masks, lotions, scrubs and serums which is something I could not be bothered to do outside of my normal skincare routine.

Having all this time on my hands has given me the opportunity to test out new products and really listen to what my skin and hair needs. I’ve also stopped wearing makeup and straightening my hair to give myself the ultimate beauty detox.
