DU’IT Tough Lips RRP $5.95
What a steal at this price. A good lip balm keeps lips moisturised, but beyond that, smell, application, and texture are all a matter of personal preference. The DU’IT Tough Lips is a firm wax instead of a gel and it’s slightly matte formula glides on very smoothly and doesn’t just wipe off straight away – it actually stays in place for quite a while. I didn’t have to reapply it all the time like some others I’ve tried.
It comes in gender neutral packaging and it has a very pleasant and faint, sweet smell and taste. I noticed my lips were almost immediately rejuvenated after applying – this lip balm doesn’t mess around.
Weleda Skin Food RRP $15.95
This natural, German-manufactured product is definitely one of the more heavy duty moisturisers I’ve come across, it’s texture is much thicker than lotion or cream. Weleda Skin Food has a beautiful blend of all natural ingredients such as rosemary leaf extract and calendula, and carries a citrus-like smell. The rich paste supports the skin’s protective barrier by increasing moisturisation and consequently reducing skin tension and itchiness.
I would recommend this product for dry and rough skin as it provides intense moisturisation and leaves a very dewy look even after a few hours. The product needs to be warmed up between your palms for a few seconds to make it easier to gently massage into your face.
Ethical Zinc Daily Wear Light Sunscreen RRP $19.99
During the winter months, it’s very easy to neglect protecting skin from the sun. When it’s cold and gloomy the last thing we think of within our skincare routine is sunscreen.
Victoria Schofield, Dermalogica’s Education Manager says “UVA rays are present at the same strength from dusk till dawn all year round, and penetrate cloud cover, thus skin damage can occur in the colder months.”
Ethical Zinc have a daily wear light sunscreen in their range that is formulated with certified natural zinc oxide and is almost completely odourless. I love that there isn’t an intense sunscreen smell to this product (one you would normally associate with summer). It took a bit of time to apply this sunscreen and rub it in due to its thicker texture but the product dried clear and had a lighter feel to it after fifteen minutes.

The Shawelle Active Serum is a delicate and luminous gel for combination and sensitive skin. The bottle of the serum is beautifully feminine and matches the sleekness and softness of the product it holds inside. I was surprised I only needed a pea-sized amount to cover my entire face – a little goes a long way with this radiant sweet-smelling serum.
The product absorbed quite quickly into my skin, which made it very easy to apply before work in the morning and then apply my makeup. I was able to pack my morning routine full of the antioxidants and vitamins it needs and about one week after using it daily I started to notice much more of a glow to my complexion.
Inika Organic Phytofuse Renew Resveratrol Serum RRP $99
This vegan serum packed with botanical oils is described by the company as ‘a miracle in a bottle’. It feels cool and soothing on the skin and carries the most amazing herbal-like smell.
The soft and creamy serum absorbed easily into my skin and left it feeling so hydrated with no greasy after-feel. I couldn’t help but pat my cheeks after applying. I loved that I could see a noticeable glow throughout the whole day after application.
The concentrated serum is supposed to reduce the risk of skin damage and premature ageing caused by daily environmental factors whilst keeping the skin nourished.
