2023 is here. The BB team share some tips on how to reboot your life in 2023 to help you start the year off on the right foot.
If you’re reading this, chances are you are eager to make 2023 your year of success.
You aspire to reach your goals, tick off your bucket list and ultimately, be the best version of yourself.
Unfortunately, life isn’t that easy.
It’s okay to feel a little daunted and overwhelmed by the incoming new year. You may feel a little anxious about the challenges you will face in 2023 – whether you are aware of them or not.
The reality is there is not much in life that you can control, but this doesn’t mean you have to wait around for things to happen.
Luckily, there are some things you can take into your own hands to lift your spirits before entering the new year.
Psychologist and leadership coach, Dennis Buttimer tells Piedmont Healthcare, “The New Year offers a blank slate – an opportunity to get things right…. If you don’t have a structure in place to keep you motivated, the behaviour you are engaging in will tend to trail off.”
2023 is days away, but don’t worry; you’ve still got time to rest, reset and reboot your life.
If you’re unsure of how to do so, the BB team is here to help.
Here are some things that the BB team do to reboot their lives for the new year.

“The start of a new year for me is all about rebooting my mindset and wellbeing.”
The start of a new year for me is all about rebooting my mindset and wellbeing. To prepare for the new year, I first reflect back and journal all the notable highs and lows. Everything that went right and everything that went wrong. Then, I write down the things, habits, routines, etc. that I want to keep moving forward and the ones I want to leave behind or change. Writing it out helps to visualise your goals. Finally, I set intentions and goals for myself. A personal goal of mine every year is to keep up with meditation or some sort of mindful practice, whether that be yoga every morning, a light walk every day or 15 minutes of reading every night to clear the head.

“2023 will be all about decluttering and reorganising my beauty cabinets.”
Yes, I said cabinets. As I have more than one choc full of beauty products and innovative beauty devices. It’s something I should have done a long time ago as I have no doubt some makeup products have exceeded well past they expiration date. If they haven’t and I no longer use it, then I will create a donation pile of beauty (as long as it hasn’t been used) and pass onto a women’s shelter, or even gift to some friends and family. If used, well you never know, perhaps I will reunite my passion for the product and start using it again in 2023.

“I like to organise my reading goals.”
I like to organise my reading goals for the year since I’m a big reader. I do this by organising my reads for January and setting a goal for how many books I want to read that year, as well as treating myself to buying some new books.
I’m not a very big organiser for the new year and usually just go with what happens, but this is one thing I enjoy.

“I’m going to overhaul my health and beauty.”
I’m going to overhaul my health and beauty. I am going to create a new skincare routine which includes more natural products and a commitment to a mask every week at least.
I am going to do yoga at least once a week and meditate as often as I can, even if it’s just for a few minutes a day.

“I want to learn how to appreciate the little things in life.”
In 2023, I want to make a real effort to carve out time for gratitude, whether it be by writing it down or taking 5 minutes before bed to reflect thoughtfully. I want to learn how to appreciate the little things in life more instead of taking them for granted. This includes spending time with the people I care most about, without any distractions like technology or work, or simply appreciating that I have a roof over my head.
Keanne adds,
“I want to save and spend wisely in 2023.”
My bank account is going downhill from the amount of money I spend on bubble tea! In 2023, I am planning on keeping track of my expenses and budgeting to avoid any financial stress. I am going to search for and learn about resources that will help me fulfil this goal such as Excel.

“Curation is something I’m always working towards, particularly in 2023.”
Curation of style in both fashion, decor and design of my space is something I have recently neglected, buying into trends and fashion fads.
I would love to make a conscious effort to work towards collecting and refining my authentic style by continuing to add to my capsule wardrobe.
I also see my room as a blank canvas, and I can’t wait to rediscover my style through interesting and unique fashion and furniture finds.

“In 2023, I want to practice self-care more.”
Whether it be by making an effort to do my full skincare routine each night, rewarding myself after a long week of work by spending time with family and friends, getting in some light movement each day or eating a balanced and delicious meal – I want to make sure I prioritise looking after my mental health and my body.
I will also practice self-care by actively working towards my ambitions, including dedicating time to work on my career goals.

“One thing I do to prepare for the new year is to declutter my activewear..”
One thing I do to prepare for the new year is to declutter my activewear.
Any pieces I haven’t worn throughout the year or find in the back of my closet, I either offer to my friends or donate them to a local Op Shop. This way, I have more room for any stunning gym outfits that get released throughout the year.
