These are some of the best new beauty products I am indulging in and can’t live without right now.
Beauty products are no longer an indulgence, they are a necessity. But during covid, many Australian women have chosen to indulge by spoiling themselves with luxury beauty – and I have to confess I am one of them. These are some of my current favourites;
Fragrance: Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian $351.00
I always get comments when I wear this rich, sultry fragrance with notes of jasmine, saffron, cedar and ambergris. Often referred to as the paradox of fragrances, it somehow manages to be sweet and spicy, heavy yet light, floral and woody. The fragrance creator, Kurkdjian worked for Gaultier and created the iconic blue fragrance Le Male, sold in the blue busted bottles, as is on the rise as the celebrity perfumer of the world.
Face: Guerlain Abeille Royal Youth Water $80.00
This new decadent facial oil in water makes the start and end of my day that little bit indulgent. It is made with honey and royal jelly, and leaves skin dewy, and not oily. It acts as a luxurious, nourishing moisturiser on the skin, and leaves skin smooth. There is even a special massaging technique Guerlain recommend to stimulate skin and help increase firmness.
Skin: Clarins Double Serum $152
This product has been around for years, but Clarins keep updating the formula ever so slightly to improve it, and my skin responds every time. The new beauty packaging and new formula combines 2 different serums, and is full of 21 plant extracts. The new larger bottle is excellent to travel with too, and is rotating so it cleverly measures out the right amount of both serums.
The gold tip on the end of this product is cooling, smoothing and a pleasure to use, especially if I am feeling under the weather. The cream itself is potent, and refreshes my under eyes and woks well under make-up.
Somehow the clever people at Kiehls have managed to produce a new product that looks like avacdoe, has the same texture as avocado and kinda smells like avacdoe but is actually not the real thing. A gorgeous face mask to instantly hydrate and fill in fine lines, this is brilliant at this time of year.
Weleda Skin Food Body Butter $31.95
Weleda just celebrated 100 years in business , meaning they were innovators of their time when they came out with the first all natural beauty brand. I like the idea of putting natural products on my body rather than chemicals, and this body butter is not too thick and really moisturises the skin.
This pale pink bottle of oil free hydrating moisturiser feels like a holiday for the skin. It is a cross between a liquid and a cream, and glides onto skin. Formulated with 90% watermelon extract, it smells and feels beautiful, and has hyaluronic acid to fight free radical damage and smooth skin. Skin soaks it up instantly and skin is ready to face the day.
