Have you seen the new TikTok and Instagram trend of using Rose Quartz Face Rollers to naturally reduce wrinkles?

If we’ve learned anything about beauty from the last two years, it’s that, Australian consumers are looking for more natural-based skincare ingredients, and products that are Aussie born and bred.

With an industry revenue expected to grow at an annualised 7.3% over the five years through 2020-21, to $435.5 million in Australia alone, it is big business.

In 2020-2021, two major environmental factors impacted the beauty market: ‘Covid-19‘ and ‘Sustainability‘. This included everything from sanitisers and self-care, while sustainability increased consumer’s demand for natural cosmetics such as organic makeup, vegan lipsticks, and cruelty-free sunscreens.

33-year old Zarina Weston identified with the need for natural beauty products, and so created her brand Kenzina, as she could not find a product, which not only delivered results, but was entirely ethically made.

“Beauty and skincare are my passion. I love to try new products and am always learning about beauty product ingredients. While I was on my second maternity leave, I became a certified beautician, and I am currently studying Cosmetic Chemistry,” she explains.

Zarina is married, lives in Sydney after relocating from Perth 4 months ago, is a mum of two crazy young girls ages 6 and 2, and a black cat named Mr Bond.

“My journey began when I saw the waste generated by the beauty industry and especially the eye mask market where most products are in either 5 or 6 pairs per packet.

The outer packet is not recyclable, and then sitting within that are individually packaged pairs in more non-recyclable packaging,” Zarina exasperates.

Kenzina’s mission statement is simple; create professional skincare products for home and salon use, which are both affordable AND luxurious, but also deliver outstanding results. , without harming your body or the environment. Karina also wanted the products to be vegan, cruelty-free and with sustainable packaging.

“Our journey began when I saw the waste generated by the eye mask market, where all current products are offered in either 5 or 6 (sometimes 10) pairs per packet. The outer packet is not recyclable, and then sitting within that are individually packaged pairs in more non-recyclable packaging,” Zarina explains.

This led to the development of the first product, rejuvenating eye masks, which are made from sustainable, natural ingredients safe for the earth.

Following the success of the eye patch mask and lip mask, Zarina created a one-of-a-kind beauty tool, The Kenzina 100% Genuine Rose Quartz Crystal Face Roller and Gua Sha 2-in-1.

“The Rose Quartz roller helps stimulate collagen and elastin production, promoting circulation and reducing puffiness. Whilst the Gua Sha end of the tool promotes good blood circulation and can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”

This beautiful and easy to use roller is a must-have in your skincare routine.

Performing a massage with the Kenzina roller over facial pressure points will help stimulate collagen and elastin production, promote circulation and release lymphatic blockages to help boost the skin’s natural detoxification process.

“We created and launched on 2 of April 2020 Kenzina Rejuvenating Eye Masks in recyclable packaging with 30 pairs per container which have sold well.

The patches are luxurious and moist and made of a biodegradable material which breaks down. They are a beautiful shimmery pink, and contain coconut and peppermint extract for instant hydration, cooling, soothing and depuffing of the under-eye area,” Zarina explains.

They are nfused with Hyaluronic Acid, Antioxidants, Niacinamide (vitamin B3), Vitamin E, Volufiline and other active ingredients that work in synergy to repair skin, reduce wrinkles and fine lines and plump up the skin around the eyes.

The eye masks work in synergy to repair skin, reduce wrinkles, dark circles and fine lines and plump the skin around the eyes.

“In March 2021 of this year, we launched the Plumping Lip Masks enriched with coconut, avocado, watermelon extracts hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E.

These masks deliver a burst of hydration and smooth texture for your lips ready for your favourite lipstick, matte shade or gloss. They come in a container of 24 pairs, providing a more sustainable packaging solution.”

Kenzina is a wholly Australian owned business based in Sydney, Australia, and ships globally. Later this year, this will be launching the release of Australia’s first 100% biodegradable face mask in 100% biodegradable packaging.
