Is It Ok To Wear Fake Tan On The Face?

is it okay to wear fake tan on the face

Wearing fake tan on your face is ok. The question is, what are the best products to use on your face so you don’t breakout.

Bondi Beauty’s beauty editors answers your beauty questions for this weeks Q&A on fake tan for the face and lash extensions.

If you have a question, email us at bondibeauty@mail.com and we will feature your question and answer fortnightly.

Q. Should I use fake tan on my face? If yes, how should I apply it and do you have any products you can recommend?

Using fake tan on your face is totally okay. However, you need to make sure you use the right one.

Fake tans with guide colours in them are often comedogenic. This means they will block the pores and are likely will lead to breakouts and bad skin. Opting for products which are non-comedogenic which means  a product contains ingredients that won’t clog or block the pores on your skin.

Which is a great option for acne prone, impure or combination skin types. This is because products that do not clog your pores will help reduce the chances of acne and pimples developing

Tanologist Dark Tanning Drops are perfect for tanning your face. Not only do they have no guide colour, but you can also mix it into your favourite skincare product, like a face cream.

Byron Bay Bronze Face Tan Water comes in a spray bottle, so you can apply it as a mist. This also means your skin won’t dry out during application. Both products – the drops and the tan water are not only free from irritants but are also approved by a dermatologist.

Ella Bache’s Great Facetan Without Sun is a cream face tan with instant bronzer illuminator so this is perfect to wear before going out for a night out.

Q. I am considering lash extensions. Can lash extension damage your lashes, or is it best to use a lash growing mascara and serum to help boost their volume and length?

Lash extensions, whilst they do look great, can damage your naturally lashes. Sort of. Meaning, depending on the product you use it as well as how you maintain them, will depend on the outcome of whether your natural lashes will get damaged or not.

It’s important to do your research and look for a good lash technician, who uses a high quality product with respect to what the lashes are made from and of course, the glue used to attach those lashes.

And never ever remove them by pulling them off yourself, as this will cause damage and mostly likely rip off your natural lashes with the extensions.

If you do need to remove them yourself, we recommend using an oil cleanser, as all oil-based products will dissolve the glue and remove lashes. By applying an oil cleanser to your lashes, you will easily be able to remove them gently without damages your natural lashes.

Alternatively, if you are seeking to naturally grow your lashes, there are some amazing lash serum products now available to help your lashes grow.

EyEnvy Lash and Brow Conditioner is great for lengthening and thickening your lashes. It does take around three months to see the final effect of using this product, but the results are well worth the effort and wait.

Our Favourite Product of the Week:

Frank Body Clean Deodorant – Cucumber + Green Tea RRP $14.95

It’s made of clean ingredients, is aluminium-free and has a smooth texture. What more could you want in an all natural deodorant.

The most frustrating thing about switching from a mainstream deodorant to an all natural one, is the smell.

When you stop using mainstream deodorants, your body begins to detox all the chemicals from regular daily use of a mainstream deodorant. This is often associated with an icky smell which really isn’t BO, but is something entirely different.

Deodorants are not meant to clog the pores of your underarms, but rather just stop them smelling from sweat. However, most mainstream products will block the pores, which may then lead to some serious health problems in the future.

It can be a little difficult to switch from mainstream to natural, if you don’t have the patience to wait at least a week for the toxins to leave the body. This is where Frank Body comes in.

Trialling this deodorant for a week, we found there was no icky smell during the whole detox process. The combination of green tea and cucumber, kept things fresh and easy to manage. Of course, every underarm is different, and you may get different results.

Here at BB headquarters, we thought this deodorant was the bees knees of natural under arm care.
