An affordable beauty routine isn’t impossible. The team at Bondi Beauty share their best kept secrets when it comes to favourite low-cost products, all under $20.
There’s a common misconception in the beauty world that the more expensive a product is, the better it will be.
While this can be the case, it doesn’t mean that inexpensive products should be thrown to the side and forgotten, cast away for their cheaper price tag.
Here at Bondi Beauty, we love a bargain, and we’re all about affordable products that really work. Here are the team’s favourite products under $20.
Cosmetics
It’s a given that the team at Bondi Beauty loves cosmetics. We live and breathe makeup almost every day; whether it’s writing the newest reviews, attending new product launches or just simply getting our face ready for the day.
Mascara: RIMMEL Scandaleyes WOW Wings Mascara, RRP $17.99 AUD

“I have relatively long lashes already, so I need a mascara that will go above and beyond in providing length, fullness and volume to my lashes. For such an affordable price, the RIMMEL Scandaleyes WOW Wings Mascara is great – it literally makes me look like I have false lashes on.
With a unique, 2-sided brush, one winged side to provide volume, and a curved side to flare out and elongate the lashes further, this is a great all-round mascara that gives my lashes a long-lasting winged look.” – Zoe
Lash and Brow Dye: 1000 Hour Lash & Brow Dye, RRP $18

“The thousand hour lash and brow dye kits are fantastic to keep brows and lashes in tip to shape on a budget. And they save a lot of time as you use them at home.” – Renae
Setting Powder: Innisfree Matte Mineral Real Pressed Setting Powder, RRP $10

“This setting powder is excellent in my handbag in summer as it mattifies my face in seconds.” – Renae
Setting Spray: Australis Make-up Finishing Spritz, RRP $16.95

“I bought this setting spray on a whim as I was running down the aisle of Priceline one day. For under $20, this product was definitely a worthwhile purchase. At the end of my make-up routine, I will give myself a few sprays of the rosewater scented Make-Up Finishing Spritz about 20cm away from my face.
Afterwards I like to use a fan to air out the product. It not only leaves my face feeling refreshed but takes away the caked look of my makeup.” -Anisha
Skincare
At the heart of great beauty is a quality skincare routine. Our team is diverse; made up of different ages, skin types and skin tones. As such, our favourite skincare under $20 is varied; from cleansers, to lip balms, to facemasks; that will suit a variety of different needs.
Cleanser: Neutrogena cleansing oil hydrating for dry skin, RRP $18.95

“Neutrogena isn’t a brand you immediately think of for mature skin, but for dry skin, especially after harsh treatments, this cleanser works. It’s hydrating, feels soft on the skin and moisturises hands at the same time.” -Renae
Cleanser: Formula 10.0.06 Bare Face Cleansing Oil RRP $12.99

“I still get amazed when using this cleansing oil. After cleansing with a regular cleansing gel or milk, I apply a small amount of this cleansing oil on to a makeup remover pad and sweep over my whole face.
It’s incredible how much makeup, dirt and other nasties are still sitting on the skin. The oil works to grab at any particles on the skin (like a magnet) giving you a deeper cleanse of the pores. The texture is soft and silky on the skin and easy to use.” -Rebecca
Facemask: Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack Sleeping Mask with Rice, RRP $3

“Perfect for those days when you need an extra hydration boost. I love using this mask right after a deep exfoliation to the skin. The rich, yet smooth texture is light and fluffy compared to many other night masks, which I much prefer as I don’t feel my skin being weighed down at all.
Application is easy and feels like a whipped moisturiser. You can get around two to three mask treatments out of one capsule, which is great value for $3” – Rebecca
Lip Balm: Vaseline Lip Therapy Lip Balm, RRP $5

“With the change in season, my lips are constantly chapped. That’s why I never hesitate to reach for my Vaseline Lip Therapy Lip Balm to soothe my dry lips.
A quick application several times throughout the day leaves my lips feeling moisturised and soft. For an added tint of colour I sometimes opt for the Rosy Lips shade of the Vaseline Lip Therapy Lip Balm.” – Anisha
