Australia’s pioneering keto collagen company Locako has collaborated with model Samantha Harris for the launch of a new beauty range made with Australian ingredients.

The new range features a delicious beauty bar and powders made with Kakadu plum, Davidson plum and finger lime sourced from indigenous communities, as well as an added beauty boost from collagen, hyaluronic acid, bamboo silica and schisandra.

Famous for creating Australia’s first collagen snack bar and making collagen taste good, Locako, which stands for Low Carb Keto, is Australia’s founding, pioneering and market-leading low-carb and keto brand.

Locako was founded by Ally Mellor in 2017 and has grown rapidly to a trusted brand with a strong following from anyone following a low-carb or keto lifestyle, and it has broad appeal to everyone wanting healthy, low-sugar snacks.

And now Aussie Model Samantha Harris has joined forces with the Locako Founder to create a new beauty range filled with natural Aussie native ingredients.

“Sam is beautiful on the inside and out and understands that true beauty comes from within. She embraces a no-fuss approach to her beauty, putting more of an emphasis on what goes inside her body to create a beautiful glow and that’s exactly what we’re about at Locako,” Ally says.

“Locako is proudly Australian and it has been wonderful to work with someone who is just as passionate as we are about supporting local businesses. In addition to tasting divine, native Australian ingredients pack a powerful punch from Kakadu plum’s high vitamin C content, which supports collagen production, to finger lime, which is high in potassium, antioxidants, folate and vitamin E.”

Samantha, who was a fan of Locako long before becoming the face of the beauty range, said she loves everything the Australian brand stands for.

“Locako uses natural, Australian plant extracts in its beauty collagen range, which taste great, are great for overall health and have been wild harvested in remote communities creating jobs and opportunities for indigenous people such as the women of Wadeye in the Northern Territory,” Samantha explains.

“I can’t get enough of the collagen beauty range – I add a spoonful of the vanilla and Kakadu plum powder to my morning smoothies and make a refreshing blueberry and finger lime tonic for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Collagen and vitamin C are integral to my health and beauty routine and I haven’t found anyone who does it as cleanly or as tastily as Locako.

I believe that beauty comes from within, so I have a low-key approach to what I put on my skin, usually sunscreen twice a day and some serum in the morning and at night. I put more of an emphasis on what goes in my body to create a healthy glow from the inside out.

Being fit and well is what makes me feel strong and beautiful, so the main focus of my beauty regime is maintaining my mental and physical wellbeing,” Ms Harris said.

Samantha shares her natural beauty tips on how to get a beautiful glow from the inside out naturally:

  • Fruit & Veg galore

Samantha is not a big meat eater, so a big portion of her diet is fresh fruit and vegetables. She makes sure to get her daily intake of vitamins, minerals and nutrients by adding fresh fruit and powerful native ingredients like Kakadu plum to her homemade juices and smoothies.

  • Collagen is a must

Samantha incorporates Locako collagen snacks and powders into her daily routine, starting with a spoonful of Vanilla and Kakadu Plum Beauty Collagen in her morning smoothie and ensures she always has a stack of collagen bites and bars in the pantry for healthy snacks.

  • Vitamin C for health and beauty

Australian natives like Kakadu plum are high in vitamin C. Samantha incorporates these ingredients into her diet as often as possible. Vitamin C is also a big part of collagen production, “I am not trying to look 20 years younger but I try and consume as much as I can to naturally boost my own collagen for youthful looking skin”, she says.

  • Moderation is key

“I try not to think about food too much because that’s when I get a little obsessed. I try to keep my diet simple and have a straightforward plan”, she says. Samantha doesn’t like to limit anything from her diet, but she does prefer almond milk over cow’s milk, and maintains a low carb diet when she can. Especially when she’s going through a phase of doing less physically.

  • Exercise every day

Samantha prefers to exercise outdoors, rather than at a gym. She does have a personal trainer, and they workout in the morning most days outside, so she feels more energised throughout the rest of the day.

  • Keep it simple

Outside of work, Samantha says she lives a fairly simple life and enjoy simple pleasures, “For a mental health boost, there’s nothing better than spending time with my family and walking my dog along the beach”, she says. It works wonders in reducing stress and helping you stay, look and feel less exhausted and worn out.

The new collaborative range between Samantha and Locako includes Locako Beauty Collagen Brownie Bite in berry white chocolate, Locako Beauty Collagen Powder in Blueberry & Finger Lime, Locako Beauty Collagen Powder in Vanilla & Kakadu Plum, and a Locako Native Vitamin C.
