First Base:

Committed to be being part of a more sustainable planet, First Base have sourced ethically based factories that recycle all their materials. This means the material off-cuts from other clothing made, are gathered up, melted down and re-used to make more clothing. Leaving no wastage. Head to Bondi and check out Sydney’s new pop up store for First Base.

Hatha Clothing:

Born out of South America and based in Australia, Hatha Clothing was created by Exercise Physiologist, Yoga and Pilates teacher Paula Magrani, who lives in Queensland’s sunshine coast. Paula sources all fabrics from Rio de Janiero; along with the manufacturing of the clothing, in order to help local communities in Rio which helps families improve their quality of life.

Surrender Apparel:

The creator of Surrender Apparel; Julie Belic from Melbourne, has degrees in sustainable fashion and international development. Each design has been created with three mindful balances in mind: wear-ability, sustainability and style. The fabric for this activewear label is so soft, making it easy to move, whether you are working out, running errands, or chilling at home.

Lululemon Australia:

Although Lululemon isn’t entirely Australian, they are definitely worth mentioning. The brand turned completely sustainable last year, with a third of their fabric mills using a new bluedesign system, which helps reduce the environmental impacts with emissions, waste, wastewater, soil contamination, and groundwater contamination.

Dharma Bums:

Yoga teacher and fashion designer Debbie Lawson founded Dharma Bums out of desire for a brand that appealed to the happiness and harmony sought by yoga practitioners. Based in Sydney, the company creates an ever-evolving collection, including mesh-paneled and brightly-colored leggings and sports bras as well as soft-bamboo fabric tank tops with slogans like Trust the Yoga.

Pink Punk Active:

Founder of Pink Punk Active Tarah started designing her own activewear and swimwear from scratch, by designing and making the clothing at home. All clothing produced for Pink Punk Active is handmade and produced by Tarah herself at her studio. She uses only Australian ethically sourced and printed textiles to ensure the best activewear clothing for Australian women.
