Full disclosure, Valentine’s Day has never really been a day I’ve enjoyed celebrating.
Restaurants pump up their dinner prices, flowers are double the price, with roses being triple, and the amount of loved up advertisements online and plastered all over shop fronts and shopping centres, often leaves me seeing actual red.
But, whether you love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day has finally arrived.
And this year, instead of making plans with my partner (who feels the same way about Valentine’s Day as I do), I will be giving giving myself some self-love.
Self-love is probably best described as a fushion of wellbeing and happiness giving something back to yourself. Whether that be timeout in the bath reading a few pages of your favourite book, getting a massage, having your hair done or maybe taking yourself out to dinner.
Between balancing a career, family, a social life and everything in-between, we often consider self-love a luxury rather than a necessity. but, every once in a while when you can, switching off to everything around you; whether that be for half an hour or more, really helps you unwind, reset and recharge both your physical and mental wellbeing.
For me, I will be spending the evening giving myself an at home pamper of self love, which starts with a hair treatment whilst relaxing in the bath and finishing with a luxurious skincare routine.
So light the candles, lock the door and bubble up the bath, because you’re about to get some serious self-love on.
This will turn your bath into a beautiful shade of peachy pinks from warm orange. Scented using natural oils of Grapefruit and Davina your bath will be infused with Vitamins A, E and K, and fresh peach juice, all of which helps to maintain healthy skin, giving you a gorgeous glow.

The Jojoba Face oil makes a great replacement for any night moisturiser as it’s rich in vitamins and provides intense hydration. This oil is soft to use and is unscented. Jojoba is also great for treating blemish prone skin, as it works to balance excess sebum build up, which is known to block pores.
Fun fact about Jojoba: Did you know in order for the Jojoba plant to germinate, you need one female plant planted to five male plants. When the time is right, the male plants will let their seeds fly and impregnate the female plant so the flowers will grow and the plant will then be ready for harvesting, which can take up to eight years.

The texture of this shampoo and conditioner is seriously silky and smells like a banana milkshake – yum. And yes, your hair will smell like bananas for at least a whole day, so if bananas are not your thing – steer clear.
It’s loaded with ingredients like Coconut Oil, Banana Pulp, Quinoa Protein, Banana Peel and Leaf and Sunflower Seed Oil – all of which protect, nourish, hydrate and revitalise the hair.
As I tend to lean more towards frizz free focused haircare products, I was a little apprehensive about these products actually working for my intense and very thick curly hair. However, my locks are left feeling and looking soft and shiny after using this shampoo and conditioner, restoring my faith in non-frizz management haircare products.
