Expert, Dr Anh Nguyen spoke to Bondi Beauty about her winter skincare secrets. Here’s what she had to say:

“Hydrate your skin with serums and facials

Keeping the skin hydrated is key over the winter periods to avoid dryness.

The formula is Serum + Hydra Facials = Beautiful Winter Skin. Investing in a good serum and having hydra facials to unclog pores and infuse ingredients such as hyaluronic acid (gel-like water-holding molecule is a moisture-binding ingredient that helps keep skin plump and hydrated). In all the incorporation of these 2 methods will further keep the skin rejuvenated and hydrated over the course of the winter months.

Embrace the Winter Sun

Over the summer periods, we have to be careful with what treatments we do due to the harsh sun rays in Australia.

Therefore, with lower sun exposure to the skin, it’s time to have the bigger gun treatments such as lasers and resurfacing peel.

Protect against Winter ageing

Ensure you are still wearing an SPF throughout the winter months is essential in Australia as we still get UVB and UVA rays that are harmful and causes ageing to the skin.

Use Winter to treat hidden skin

This is also perfect for those looking at treating the neck and décolletage as you can hide the repairing skin under a high neck shirt and scarf.

In saying this, ensuring you are still wearing a SPF throughout the winter months is essential in Australia as we still get UVB and UVA rays that are harmful and causes ageing to the skin.

Here are the perfect Winter Treatments suggested by Dr Anh Nguyen:

Co2 Laser – this is a full resurfacing laser to remove unwanted sunspots, dramatically reduce wrinkle depth and tighten skin. This requires around 2 weeks of downtime, but the results are well worth it.

Fraxel Laser – This is a fractional laser to remove unwanted sun damage from the summer periods, evens skin tone and stimulates collagen production for smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles.

10day Remodeling Procedure – This is a 10-day peel for the skin to shed the skin. Bringing back health from the inside out. Achieving a brighter, healthier skin to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and even skin tones.”
