Why Mini WorkOuts Might be The Best Way For You To Tone Up

Mini workouts have been gaining popularity, and a mini workout might be the best way for you to tone up, stay fit and have some (quick) time out.

Exercising can be difficult to find time for, especially at busy times of the year or when the pressure is on. But there are ways you can still work out and stay healthy, even if you don’t have time for a full workout.

Mini workouts are perfect to tone up, lose weight or get fit even if there’s not much time to commit to it.

They are specifically designed to be able to do anywhere, and to tone up, lose weight and get or stay fit:

1) Jump Rope: Jumping rope is a great way to burn fat and lose weight quickly. The more you jump the more calories you will burn.

Try jumping rope for five minutes, once a day and work up to two or even three times a day. You can also increase the time you spend doing it as your fitness improves.

Renae’s TIP: Where supportive shoes and consider jumping on soft grass or a running track as jumping on hard surfaces is not great for your knees or your feet.

2) Push-ups: Push-ups are one of the most effective exercises because they work your upper body as well as your core muscles.

Do 10 push-ups on ea day at first, and work up to every time you have a break or feel like it during your day.

You can even do 10 push-ups before bedtime to relax your body and mind.

Renae’s TIP: Hold your last push up for at least 20 seconds every time you do a set to really strengthen your core muscles and improve your mental strength.

3) Lunges: Lunges are another great exercise that works out your entire leg muscle group in one go. Try doing 15 lunges on each leg in the morning.

You can eventually hold weights to increase the difficulty, and hold your lunges down for longer times as your leg muscles get stronger.

Renae’s TIP: Try and do these in front of a mirror to ensure your back is straight and your posture upright.

4) Stretching: Whilst stretching is not considered a workout by many, it is actually an integral part of muscle strengthening and overall fitness.

Having one day of simply stretching and breathing effectively whilst you stretch is fantastic for your body as well as your mind. You can do it almost anywhere, any time.

Renae’s TIP: If you are out of practise with stretching, consider brushing up with a youtube video to make it more interesting which will mean you’re more likely to commit to it.
