The Best Beauty Buys We Keep Going Back To (From Just $3.59)

The best beauty buys we keep going back to

These are the best beauty buys the BB team can’t get enough of.

It doesn’t matter how many beauty products you trial, there are always those key beauty buys you keep going back to as part of your beauty arsenal.

I checked in with the team to find out what their go to beauty buys where, the products they favour of anything else.

BB Writer Sarah:

Cetaphil Cleanser RRP $16.99 and QV Moisturiser RRP $16.59.

“Years ago a dermatologist told me the no frills brands like Cetaphil and QV are all you need to put on your skin to keep it hydrated and acne free. I like to keep it simple, and these brands give you bang for your buck.

The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for Face and Body lasts around 6 months when using it just on my face. Oil Free Moisturiser by QV is another favourite beauty buy which I wear every day. Both products can be bought at most pharmacies and even supermarkets.

Cetaphil facewash works on all skin types and leaves the skin feeling clean, soft and not overly dry like some other cleansers. This product is non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t block your pores. It doesn’t sting the eyes so it’s good for removing eye makeup and it is soap free, hypo allergenic and pH balanced.

The QV Face Oil Free moisturiser keeps oily and combination skin feeling hydrated and fresh throughout the day. Containing vitamin B3 and pro-vitamin B5 this gentle and calming moisturiser will keep your skin feeling hydrated throughout the day.

I love these products and I keep going back because they work and are affordable.”

BB Beauty Writer Rebecca:

It Cosmetics Byebye Breakout Concealer RRP $42

“This has been my go-to concealer for a while now, since I first trialled it 3 years ago.

It uses AHAs, BHAs/Salicylic Acid, Peptides in the formulation of this concealer, to help you deal with breakouts a lot faster than normal. The texture can be quite drying in nature, which is intentional, as this is how it dries out blemishes, destroying bacteria and healing them. So, I tend to use this concealer when. I am at home more.

After my regular skincare routine morning and night, I use the concealer on my blemishes only, by dabbing a small amount on them to cover them. This is great when I am at home, as it stops me looking at them, touching them and making them worse.

Out of sight out of mind”.

BB Founder Renae:

Neutrogenic Oil Free Pink Grapefruit Peel-Off Sheet Face Mask RRP $3.59

“This mask is made for acne but works for all skin types, smoothing  fine lines and and leaves skin smooth, soft and flawless.  It smells like fresh grapefruit so the scent gives you a lift.

You smooth it on wet and wait about 20 minutes for it to dry, then peel it off.

Brilliant before a special occasion. And for the price, you can treat yourself more than once a week with this mask”.

BB Writer Czelene:

Lucas Paw Paw Ointment RRP $6.99

“Paw paw has a variety of uses- from eczema to rashes, and dry skin, paw paw does it all. It’s unique use of Queensland grown papaya mixed with petroleum jelly has the power to moisturise and heal the skin.

The ointment has an anti- bacterial and antimicrobial properties which is why it’s perfect for numerous uses for cuts, wounds, dryness and chaffing. I personally use it on my lips as lip balm 95% of the time, and sometimes also on dry spots around my face. Also, it’s great for mozzie bites.

I always have a 25g tube in my bag or purse to re-apply on my lips every couple of hours, as it keeps my lips moisturised for a very long time. It’s cheap and lasts months (I had a tube which lasted 10 months) as you don’t need a lot to heal/moisture”.

BB Writer Claudia:

EyEnvy Conditioner RRP $100 to $120

“This product is simply amazing. It tricks your lashes into thinking it’s in its growth phase for longer than your body normally would allow it to, increasing natural lash growth

For so long, I exclusively and painfully had a full set of lash extensions applied every 4 weeks and I got so over the process of maintaining them and seeing all my natural lashes get pulled out in the process. This is the first product that I’ve used that genuinely has made such a huge difference to the state of my natural lashes.

I’ve seen improvement in length and thickness, and it allows me to embrace my natural face a bit more”.

BB Writer Phoebe:

Morphe Definer Brow Pencil RRP $9

“For a while I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz to fill in my eyebrows everyday, but lately I have discovered that Morphe makes the same product for a fraction of the price.

The ABH Brow Wiz is $38, while Morphe’s brow pencil is only $9. It’s formula is just as creamy as any other eyebrow pencil and there are a wide range of shades available.

Not only this, the spoolie at the end of the eyebrow pencil also makes it extremely convenient and quick to use.”

BB Writer Monique:

Benefit Cosmetic 24-hour Brow Setter RRP $45

“My favourite beauty product, and one I will never stop re-purchasing is the Benefit Cosmetic “24 Hour Brow Setter Invisible Brow Gel.

You can get it at any Sephora or Myer store. At Myers, you will find it at the Benefit pop up stall. Online, you can purchase the brow setter from Adore beauty and Benefit Cosmetics directly.

I have been through countless already, but it is the only eyebrow gel that keeps my brows brushed up all day, even in the rain. I love that the brush tip has two different lengths, because I can get into all the small brow hairs and create a very precise fluffy brow. I wouldn’t trust any other brow gel to use on clients because it is fool proof.”

BB Writer Maya:

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer RRP $32 and MOROCCANOIL Original Oil Treatment RRP $63.95

“My latest makeup obsession has been the Fenty beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in the shade Fenty glow. The reason I love my Fenty Beauty Gloss is because of its non-sticky glossy texture and that it has the most amazing scent to it”.

I also have my forever trusted Moroccan Oil Original Oil Treatment for my end of shower hair care routine. The Moroccan oil treatment is another product I go back to because it leaves my hair silky and with the best shine without that oily look that other hair oils give”.
