6 tips for radiant hair.

Use Heat Protection Spray:

When using a hot hair styling tool you must give your hair as much protection as possible. Every time you use a hairdryer, a curling tong or straightener, make sure you’re applying a high-quality heat protection spray beforehand.

Don’t Wash Every Day:

There’s nothing better than waking yourself up with a hot, morning shower. However, if you want to maintain happy, healthy hair all year round, you need to reduce your hair washing routine to a minimum.

Three washes a week should be enough to keep your hair looking fresh and minimise the risk of drying out your scalp and causing dandruff!

When you reduce your hair washing routine, you’re also reducing the amount of time you’ll use heat appliances on your tresses, which can only be a good thing.

Don’t Wash Hair in Hot Water:

If you want your hair to look radiant and super healthy, you need to turn down the temperature of your shower. When we use hot water to wash our hair and our bodies, we’re actually stripping away the natural moisture in both our hair and skin.

This makes it difficult to replenish leaving us with dry, brittle hair and flaky, dry skin. So, when you do wash your hair, opt for lukewarm water instead.

Book a Hairdresser:

Having your ends trimmed isn’t easy – especially when you love your current hair length. Unfortunately, having your ends trimmed is the best way to keep your hair looking radiant and healthy – remember, wispy ends don’t look good.

Book yourself an appointment and get them cut, you’ll notice the difference straight away and wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.

Be Wary of Ponytails:

When the wind picks up or the temperature soars and you want to keep your neck cool in the heat,  it makes sense to put your hair up into a ponytail, but you should exercise caution.

A bobble can create damage and breakages if you regularly tie your hair back. Opt for a low ponytail and clip your hair back instead!

Reduce the Frizz:

Whether it’s from heat damage or humidity, no one wants to spend hours fixing their hair only for it to frizz up and crackle. Frizz is either caused by a lack of moisture in the air – aka humidity – or a lack of moisture in your hair in general.

The best way to combat frizz and to keep your hair radiant is by taming it with conditioner, using a hydrating mask at least once a week and using your heat appliances on a lower heat.
