Resistance training can change your life

From looking younger to improving almost every aspect of your physical, emotional and mental health, resistance training can change your life.

From your relationship to every aspect of your health, weights training works wonders.

Resistance training is not only good for your bones. It can literally improve every aspect of your life, every day. That provides great motivation to go get familiar with a leg press or some dumbbells.

Making daily life easier

The pace of modern life can make you feel like you are continually operating in fifth gear – just looking at today’s ‘to Do List’ can make you tired.

Working out creates energy giving you the ability to do more. Daily tasks like walking up stairs, carrying heavy shopping bags and picking up kids is a  lot easier if your bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, heart and lungs are stronger.

You can tailor a weight training program to strengthen your body in exactly the way you need for your lifestyle. Your body won’t feel depleted or full of aches and pains at the end of the day.

Improve sports performance

Whether you are an amateur triathlete, social tennis player or weekend golfer virtually any sports performance can be enhanced with weight training.

Sport is counted as ‘performance exercise’. You should participate in ‘foundation exercise’ to develop the base fitness, strength and flexibility you need to do your performance exercise well and without injury.

Resistance training offers a plethora of equipment and movements enabling you to specifically choose exercises that will improve your performance in your chosen sport. You can build endurance in your legs for triathlons, strength and mobility in your torso for tennis and golf.

Spice up your love life

As the old saying goes ‘you have to love yourself before you can love, or feel loved by, someone else’. If you exercise regularly and are a healthy body weight you have more self-confidence,  you will feel happier and be more fun to be around. You don’t have to have the perfect figure, but you come to know your best bits and celebrate them and not worry so much about other bits.

You have a sense of pride in what your body is able to do, not just what it looks like. A little extra energy and strength don’t go a miss in the bedroom either, from possible positions, to quality of orgasm.

Clear your head

The gym is an environment where you can put away your phone and computer and take time out from being available 24/7. Focusing on your exercises, techniques and how your body feels is a great distraction from any worries you may have.

The rush of kettlebell induced endorphins is almost as therapeutic as a counselling session or a chat with your bestie.
