Bare and Beautiful: 5 Lip Care Tips for a Natural Winter Glow

5 Lip Care Tips for Winter

As the sun sets on the Australian summer and we welcome Autumn, it’s essential to pay extra attention to your skin, and particularly, lip care.

From sun-drenched days on the beach to the cooler weather, we acknowledge that winter can be tough on your lips.

The cold air, harsh winds, and dry indoor heat can strip moisture from your lips, leaving them chapped and sore.

To help you maintain soft, nourished and healthy lips this winter, here are five essential lip care tips from the skincare experts at Burt’s Bees:

1. Stay Hydrated

Keeping your body hydrated is crucial for maintaining healthy skin, including your lips. And this goes for any time of the year.

Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help your lips retain their natural moisture and reduce the likelihood of dryness, cracking and chapping.

2. Exfoliate Gently

Along with staying hydrated, winter also calls for regular exfoliation to remove dead skin and prevent chapping.

Start with Burt’s Bees Conditioning Mocha Lip Scrub, an exfoliating treatment that combines the richness of cocoa and coffee to gently buff away dry, flaky skin to reveal soft, supple lips.

By gently massaging the scrub on your lips. The conditioning properties of Burt’s Bees Conditioning Mocha Lip Scrub help to prime your lips for the treatment and soothing steps to come.

3. Treat Overnight

Some general lip balms are not hydrating enough to nourish lips, especially as we sleep – which is when we lose a lot of moisture.

The Burt’s Bees Overnight Treatment in Passion Fruit and Chamomile when added into your evening routine, helps to deeply nourish lips, ensuring you wake up with revitalised lips ready to face the cold.

The nourishing essence of passionfruit oil and the soothing touch of chamomile have been carefully formulated to conquer dry lips.

4. Lock in Moisture & Shield your Lips

Moisturise Daily with Burt’s Bees Aloe After Sun Soother Lip Balm to seal in the moisture and protect your lips from the autumn and winter air.

Infused with aloe vera and coconut oil, this balm provides deep hydration and a soothing sensation, perfect for everyday use to keep your lips soft and supple.

5. Use a Humidifier at Home

If staying indoors, combatting the dry indoor air that comes with winter heating is essential for maintaining healthy, hydrated lips. Use a humidifier in your living spaces to add moisture back into the air.

This may help prevent your lips from drying out overnight and during the day, ensuring they remain soft and supple despite the heating. Consider placing a small humidifier near your bed to protect your lips while you sleep.
