Maybelline New York X Puma announce collaboration for active wear makeup collection.
Sick of makeup sweating off in the gym? Or products losing colour and pigmentation over time?
Sportswear powerhouse Puma and iconic makeup brand Maybelline have teamed up to change just that.
Using long-wear technology and formulas, the two brands have created a limited edition, high performance makeup collection that is designed to be worn while active, making meeting those New Year’s pledge to exercise much easier to achieve.
The 12-piece collection is supposedly sweat proof and water and fade resistant, designed under the concept of “fusing beauty, fashion and sport into one high-performance makeup collection that taps into the athleisure obsession.”
The collaboration includes liquid lipsticks, two types of highlighter, mascara and duo eyeshadows, that can be both “for the streets with the stamina to stand up in the gym.”
The products also don’t need any brushes or applicators to apply – making them perfect for throwing in a gym or hand bag.
Victoria Secret angel Adriana Lima is the face of the campaign, alongside professional dancer Larsen Thompson and professional gymnast Nastasya Generalova. The trio announced the collection in an active, yet stylish shoot, wearing all Puma.

THE PRODUCTS
Available in eight different colours, the eyeshadow duo sticks are a duel-ended design, with one side being a matte and the other a metallic shade.
The crease-proof eyeshadow can reportedly last up to 24 hours, and matte colours range between black, mauve, purple and rust, while the metallics include bold shades of gold, silver lavender and red.
The liquid lipsticks use Maybelline’s SuperStay Matte Ink formula and come in five colours of pink, purple, mauve, plum and burnt orange.
Other products include smudge-proof mascara, which Adriana Lima says is her go-to when working out, a shimmery Chrome Highlighter and a Colour and Gloss Face Duo Stick that incorporates both blush and highlighter in an easy chubby stick.
The packaging is sleek and incorporates the famous Puma loga, blending streetwear style with sporty luxe influences.
Plus it works brilliantly in our gym bag, as the packaging is easily transportable.
