It’s time to start celebrating 2021 with a few beauty and fashion life hacks.

It’s time to start celebrating 2021 with a few beauty and fashion life hacks, cleansing our the old and making room for the new.

Having spent the majority of 2020 in sweatpants and dressing gowns, it comes to no surprise most people are now finding any excuse to express themselves with new beauty and fashion trends, wanting to wear their best outfits and rock their favourite makeup looks.

And with each passing day, we are now seeing more venues open up, more events being planned and governments slowly easing up a variety of different restrictions, offering more flexibility to go out and live life again.

Of course, we have been rather lucky in Australia, as for many, life didn’t sway too far from their usual norm, especially here in Sydney, where we were still able to go outdoors and enjoy a lot of fresh air and sunshine.

Even if it was enjoyed alone and without the company of others.

Excited to charge into 2021, and with the year well and truly on its way, we thought we’d share with you some great cleansing routines and fashion and beauty tips to help get you motivated for those potential family and friend gatherings now waiting on the horizon.

Sort Your Wardrobe:

In our opinion, when sorting through your wardrobe throw out the old to make room for the new. You can always donate anything still in good quality, but that you have outgrown by palming off to a thrift store so they can be re-loved by someone else. Or you can donate to a worthy cause where your clothing, accessories, and even unopened beauty products can be given to women’s shelters.

Sorting through your wardrobe and donating old items to a charity can be a rewarding and cleansing experience.

Need New Activewear:

Have you fallen into a bit of a fitness slum since last year? Did you know studies have shown new activewear helps motivate you to work out? And you don’t have to spend big either. After a tough year last year, many wellness and fitness brands are constantly having sales every month to help them kick start their profits into 2021 to financially recover from 2020.

Looking For New Work and Party Shoes:

If the office has reopened and you need a little revamp in the wardrobe with some fashionable shoe statements, there are plenty of up-and-coming styles available online, where you are sure to find your dream pair of shoes. Online store SSENSE is currently selling a wide range of designer shoes and shipping options to many a countries. They even have shoes without heels, for those a bit apprehensive wearing heels after so long in slippers.

Turn Heads with Vibrant Colours and Prints

For decades, your clothing and your style have always been an extension of yourself and your personality. The same can be said for this period that we find ourselves in now. For many people, their style is sure to have changed a few times during the lockdown periods. And it looks like certain trends from the trends of the 80s and 90s making a comeback such as denim jackets and even green corduroy trousers. And let’s not forget to show some love for those leopard prints you have stashed in the back of the wardrobe too.

Reinvent Yourself:

Stay local and look at sustainable fashion at home. We love the fashion label SABO which is Aussie born and bred. Sabo was founded in 2011 by Brisbane-based besties Thessy and Yiota (plot twist: they also happen to be sisters-in-law). The girls started out with a simple fashion-blog-turned-online-store, through which they sold a mix of vintage pieces, local labels as well as their own original designs.

Cleanse Out Your Beauty Stash:

Check if any of your products have use by dates. Especially any products which contain vitamin C, which expire within a few weeks of opening. Most of us are guilty of holding on to products we don’t really use or need, with the hopes we may use them in the near future. The truth is, they get forgotten about and then when we are ready to use them, they have either expired, gone off or worse. Check your makeup too, as products like foundation and mascara contain a heavy dose of bad bacteria.

The beauty and fashion world is indeed your oyster. And after the year we all had in 2020, It’s time to get motivated and get out there. Sign up to a new gym or fitness class. Treat yourself to those designer shoes you have always wanted. And if you overloaded yourself with too many slef0-care beauty items in 2020, donate any unused product to the women’s shelter and share some love with those in need.
