In Sydney we are lucky enough to be blessed with some of the best coastal walks in the country some of which we’ve already shared with you HERE, but now that we are in 2018, and here at Bondi Beauty added to our list of favourite costal walks.
We’ll ease you in with a not so challenging walk first. This walk is mainly flat paths along the beach that offers spectacular views the Shire. This walk is perfect for families, bikes, and is extremely dog-friendly. If you’re after that extra health kick on top of the 4km walk there also outdoor exercise equipment along the way.
If you’re looking for a longer walk, this 10km route is for you. Starting the track in Manly near the ferry port, you’ll wind past Dobroyd Head, roam through the Sydney Harbour National Park at Castle Rock before passing Clontarf Beach, Sandy Beach and Fisher Bay. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, you can take a detour to the Aboriginal rock carvings at Grotto Point Lighthouse.
One of the shorter walks on the list is this 3km beauty from La Perouse to Yarra Bay. With panoramic views of Botany Bay this walk is perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon stroll. The track also offers fantastic wheelchair and pram accessibility.
Starting from the Taronga Zoo Wharf and weaving through the bush of some of Sydney’s Northern suburbs this 8km walk is filled with historic sites, beautiful heritage listed buildings and breath taking harbour views the whole way along.
One that will definitely impress any out-of-towner, or Sydney-sider for that fact is the 8.5km Barrenjoey to Avalon walk. Lead off the walk by ascending to Barrenjoey lighthouse before starting the route to Avalon. The views along will include plenty of beautiful beaches with an alternation of Pittwater and the Pacific Ocean.
Yes you could drive/bus/ferry from Balmain to Circular Quay but where’s the fun (and exercise) in that? If you’re after a quick walk with water views and the potential for a cheeky drink at the end, this 40-minute trek is perfect for you. Starting off this walk between the inner-west’s unofficial suburb of pubs, through Pyrmont and finishing at Opera Bar makes for the perfect little cardio hit, or well needed break between drinks.
