Swap out your cult beauty favourites for cruelty free mineral makeup with these awesome makeup dupes.

Swap Nars Sheer Glow Foundation (RRP$75.00) for Raww Cosmetics Super-Camo Foundation (RRP$34.99)

While the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation is world renowned for its great coverage and dewy skin effect, Nars is a company that tests on animals. While the company was once classified as cruelty free, earlier this year, they updated their animal testing policy to reflect their decision to join the Chinese market, which requires that products are tested on animals before they enter the consumer market.

A great cruelty free alternative is the Raww Cosmetics Super-Camo Foundation (RRP$34.99) which is both cruelty-free, vegan and organic. It’s a triple threat. While the brand’s ethics deserve a huge pat on the back, the product itself should be celebrated in its own right. The foundation has a medium to buildable coverage, meaning that you can layer it up to create a full coverage if you would prefer. It has an SPF 15, making it great for everyday use and there are a wide range of shades ranging from from Vanilla (for the very pale) to Chia (for people with deep and darker skin tones).

Swap MAC’s Art Library: Flame-Boyant Palette (RRP $89.00) for The Lust Minerals Glow Palette by SG x Lust (RRP $79.99)

MAC is owned by Estée Lauder, whose animal testing policy is to not test on animals unless compulsory by law. Because MAC is sold in China, where animal testing is required, MAC isn’t a cruelty-free company. But never fear, Lust Minerals is a hot new brand in the Australian Mineral Makeup Market. Lust Minerals is not only vegan and cruelty free, but the mineral makeup it is a cleaner alternative to chemical based products and it is artificial dye free, making it perfect for sensitive skin and eyes.

If you’re a fan of the warm tones in the MAC palette then you’ll love Lust Minerals’ alternative. With a mix of mattes and shimmers that are all warm in undertone you’ll look like a bronzed goddess – especially if you have blue or green eyes as these colours will make them POP. With their creamy formula, the shadows will glide seamlessly onto the eyes and then stay put for the rest of the day.

Swap the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Reloaded Mascara (RRP $17.95) for the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (RRP$39.00)

If you’re a fan of the Rimmel London Mascaras because of their dark pigment and volumizing effect, then you’ll love Too Faced’s Better Than Sex Mascara. While both the regular and waterproof formula provide epic volume and length, the waterproof version does not budge from your eyelashes until YOU choose to take it off. That means no smudging or runs no matter if it’s raining, hailing or shining, making it the ultimate everyday mascara. Not only does it hold a curl and create a thick coating of mascara, but they created this amazing product without testing on animals or using any animal bi-products.

SWAP The Benefit Hoola Bronzer (RRP $54.00) for TheBalm’s Bahama Mama Bronzer (RRP$29.95)

Benefit is a cosmetic brand that many people think is cruelty-free but actually isn’t (it is sold in China). However if you’re a fan of the neutral tone of the infamous Hoola Bronzer then you’ll love TheBalm’s alternative. While the colour is a little bit darker, it’s neutral tone makes it perfect for contouring as well as bronzing. The cute vintage packaging is a great alternative to the kitch aesthetic of Benefit, however it is far less bulky making it much easier to fit the products in your makeup bag and take with you for touch ups throughout the day. The bronzer is an effortless matte, making it look far more natural than shimmery alternatives.
