This is what your weekly routine is missing

Exercise is about so much more than forcing yourself through another gym session. It’s about movement, routine, community, and finding something that actually makes you want to get out of bed.

If you’re struggling to drag yourself to the gym each week, chances are the problem isn’t motivation, it’s that you haven’t found the right kind of movement yet.

Across Bondi, fitness clubs have quietly built loyal communities who come together over ocean swims, beachside pilates, sunrise runs and boxing classes that each leave you feeling stronger, clearer and connected to the people and city around you.

Add in Bondi’s ocean backdrop, post-workout coffee rituals, and the kind of people who will set their alarms two hours earlier just to make the most of the day, and suddenly exercise feels a lot less like a chore.

If you’ve been contemplating joining a new exercise club this year, start here; Your exclusive guide to Bondi’s Best Fitness Clubs in 2026.

Bondi Salties

The Bondi Salties have found their happy place in the ocean. What started as a few friends jumping in the water on a Friday morning has grown into one of Bondi’s most loved ocean swimming communities, and they’ve been at it for 13 years straight.

Sometimes, the best reset is a change of perspective. Swimming above the ocean floor, watching the fish move below you and sunlight hitting the water differently each morning, has a unique way of putting life back into proportion.

But the reason that they come back is more than just the ocean, it’s’ the people. Community is everything at Bondi Salties. Come for the swim, stay for the coffee and keep coming back for the friendships that form along the way.

Every Friday at 6:15am, you’ll find the salties at the North Bondi Ramp for a quick run on the sand, followed by a refreshing lap of the bay.

Consciouscore Pilates

Take your pilates session beachside with Consciouscore by Lu.

Founder Lucy Janzen created more than just a workout class. She built a space for like minded people who value movement, mindfulness and meaningful connection. Her philosophy is that creating a life backed by intention, and making the time to honour it every day, is the key to feeling and looking your best.

She alongside her knowledgeable and encouraging instructors run 45-minute sessions thoughtfully designed to increase strength, flexibility and stability, while the setting does the emotional heavy lifting.

Set against the calm backdrop of South Bondi, you’ll move through the class watching surfers out the back and the waves rolling in besides you; Scenes that will make you forget about that plank you’re holding.

And like all the best Bondi rituals, it doesn’t end when the class does. Hang around after class for a coffee and a chat, and the kind of Sunday routine you’ll genuinely look forward to,

Bondi Icebergs

Everyone knows the Bondi Icebergs club. But, not everyone knows what happens beyond the instagram photos.  Founded in 1929 as the only licensed Winter swimming club in the world, Icebergs has a rich history. What began as a way for lifesavers to stay fit during winter has become one of Sydney’s most iconic beachside communities. It’s a place where tourists and locals come together over a shared appreciation of a serene Bondi morning.

However, this club is not for fair weather friends. Joining involves participating in a Sunday morning race throughout winter. Yes, it’s cold. Yes, you may have been out the night prior. But, there’s a reason hundreds of people swarm to Icebergs week after week.

And these days, the plunge is made a little easier with top notch coffee and avocado toast on standby.

Be a part of Sydney’s most iconic ocean pool by joining the Bondi Icebergs community. It is a true reminder of how special life can be when you bring people together over one combined feat, cold water.

Bondi Beach Run Club

Run clubs had their moment last year, but there’s a reason they are still going; Exercise, community, coffee, and all you need to do is show up. No ongoing membership, no pesky cancellation fees.

Bondi Beach run club meets every Monday and Wednesday at 6:15am at the Bondi Surf Life Saving Club, making it the perfect way to start your day whilst the rest of the city slowly wakes up.

Runners often gather post run for a cool down and coffee, making it an ideal setting to connect with like minded people, and perhaps score a date. So if you’re getting tired of the dating apps, maybe run clubs are your next move; shared interests, organic interactions and no filters.

Set your alarm, try it once and see if it’s what your routine has been missing.
