Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydrating Eye Gel RRP $42

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydrating Eye Gel
“The skin around my eye area felt soft and bouncy.”

What is it: Eye Gel

Best for: Dry skin, puffiness, dark circles and fine lines

Rating: 10/10

The Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydrating Eye Gel comes in a compact sky-blue acrylic tub which perfectly parallels the colour of the gel inside. The super hydrating formula is meant to reduce puffiness, lighten dark circles and reduce fine lines. With a 50% Hyaluronic Acid Complex, the eyes remain moisturised for up to 3 days.

I trialled this eye gel during my night-time skincare routine for a week and a half. I found that a little goes a long way with this product as I only had to dip the tip of my finger into the tub to get enough gel to spread underneath both of my eyes.

The light, jelly-like texture of the gel felt wet but was cooling to apply. After lightly tapping my skin for a few seconds to rub in the formula, the gel absorbed quite quickly. I was left with a slight tingling sensation which was actually quite soothing. The product left a slight shine under my eyes.

When using this product, you can feel how hydrating the formula is. After a week and a half of using the eye gel every night, the skin around my eye area felt soft and bouncy. I also noticed that my dark circles had lightened, and my under-eye area had a slight glow.

Garnier Skin Active Hydrabomb Eye Tissue Mask RRP $3.95

Garnier Skin Active Hydrabomb Eye Tissue Mask
“I felt an instant boost to my under-eye area in hydration and appearance. “

What It Is: Sheet Eye Masks

Best for: Tired eyes

Rating: 8/10

The Garnier Eye Tissue Mask is a great way to give your under-eyes some TLC at home. The eye masks are easy to apply and are ridiculously cheap. In just 15 minutes, the skin under your eyes will feel refreshed, glowy and hydrated.

The eye sheet masks come in a sealed package that you open up and peel off to place under the eye area.

I trialled the orange flavour twice in one week as I adore any type of citrus scent, so this mask was definitely a treat for me. After wearing the mask for 15 minutes, I peeled each sheet off and gently rubbed in the excess serum around my under-eye area and a little on my eyelids as well.

After each use I felt an instant boost to my under-eye area in hydration and appearance. The skin was left looking bright and feeling soft, however this lasted for only a couple of hours.

Although I do not suffer from any puffiness or redness under my eyes, I can imagine that this mask would be a great way to soothe them in that scenario. I would recommend trying this mask out before applying a face of makeup as it would be a great way to prep the skin.

Swisse Argan Revitalising Eye Cream $16.99

Swisse Argan Revitalising Eye Cream
“After trialling this product for one week, the skin under my eyes felt smooth.”

What it is: Eye Cream

Best For: Ageing skin

Rating: 7/10

The Swisse Argan Revitalising Eye Cream’s nourishing formula looks to replenish the under-eye area for a more youthful and radiant appearance.

The product comes in a small tube where you can easily push the cream out through the applicator with one squeeze. It contains natural ingredients such as caffeine and guarana seed extract which have properties that help to revitalise the skin.

I applied this product by squeezing out a half-pea sized amount and then warming the product up between my fingers. I then, lightly dabbed the product into my under-eye skin area, until it was completely absorbed.

The texture of the cream was light in consistency and left no residue on the skin. After trialling this product for one week, the skin under my eyes felt smooth and slightly softer.

This eye cream is suitable for all skin types. Since the formula is so gentle, and has natural ingredients, it is safe for use on the eyelids as well.

Raww Super Hydrate – ME Eye Cream RRP $29.99

Raww Super Hydrate – ME Eye Cream
“It is ideal for reducing the appearance of dark under-eye bags.”

What it is: Eye Cream

Best For: Dry skin and under-eye bags

Rating: 7/10

The Raww Super Hydrate ME Eye Cream comes in a slim light pink tube with an applicator so that product can easily be pushed out from the top. The formula is a powerful natural blend of avocado oil, Kakadu plum and Wildberry harvest.

The cream is extremely lightweight, to the point where it is almost watery in consistency because of the coconut-water base. The product glides along the skin easily and is very quick to absorb.

I did notice a slight stinging sensation after I applied this product under my eyes, but it only lasted for a few seconds. The product also leaves a beautiful shimmery gleam to brighten the appearance of dark circles.

After trialling this product for approximately a week, my under-eye skin was firmer and smoother to the touch. It is ideal for reducing the appearance of dark under-eye bags and is great if you want to feed your skin some natural superfood ingredients.

Trilogy Very Gentle Eye Cream RRP $39.95

Trilogy Very Gentle Eye Cream
“My skin was not only extremely hydrated and moisturised, but it was left feeling incredibly soft as well.”

What it is: Eye Cream

Best For: Sensitive, dry under-eye skin

Rating: 9/10

The Trilogy Very Gentle Eye Cream is another natural product and it comes in a glass pot to keep the formula cool inside. The formula is made with ingredients such as anti-oxidant rich maqui berry and hydrating aloe vera which combine to give off a very distinct, earthy scent.

I trialled this product for 3 weeks every morning when my under-eye skin was quite dry. The product was light and creamy in texture and when warmed up between my fingers, it almost became sticky in consistency.

After applying the fragrance-free product under my eyes, I noticed a significant difference once the cream had fully absorbed into the area. My skin was not only extremely hydrated and moisturised, but it was left feeling incredibly soft as well. The cream also left my under-eyes with a dewier appearance.

This eye cream is a great product for sensitive skin as it includes natural ingredients such as botanicals and pure plant oils. It would also work well as a primer before applying makeup to create a soft-dewy canvas for other products to sit on.

Skinstitut Eye Believe $49

Skinstitut Eye Believe
“My under-eye area felt instantly smoother and firmer.”

What it is: Eye Serum

Best For: Puffiness and dark circles

Rating: 8/10

The Skinstitut Eye Believe eye serum is best-suited to under-eyes prone to puffiness and dark circles. The synthetic peptides in this formula tightens the skin whilst the hyaluronic acid surges moisture into the area.

When trialling this product, I only needed to apply a pin-head sized amount. The texture of the serum is gooey but also has a runny consistency which made it easy to spread around the under-eye area.

This serum absorbs quite quickly, leaving a light burning sensation as well as a slightly stick residue around the eyes. Once the serum was fully absorbed my under-eye area felt instantly smoother and firmer.

In using this product for a week, my dark circles were visibly lighter and the skin under my eyes were extremely smooth, giving me an all-round refreshed appearance. I would not recommend this product for sensitive skin types as the formula is quite strong.
