3 Lashes, 3 Makeup Looks

False Eyelashes and Mascaras

As the end of the year approaches, so do all of the silly season events that you must attend.

Whether it be Christmas parties, New Year’s Eve Clubbing or a Sunday brunch debrief, ‘hot girl summer’ has arrived.

But here’s the thing; nobody wants to have to create a different makeup look for each new event. The good news is, once you have established your perfect base makeup you can switch up your look this season by just changing the eye makeup.

We’ve created 3 different makeup looks, for three kinds of events – hint: it’s all in the lashes.

Occasion: Office Christmas Party

Objective:

Everyone has that special, secret co-worker that they want to impress at the office Christmas party. Whether you’ve been working up the nerve to talk to them outside of the coffee-break-kitchenette or you’re aiming to fight your way out of the work/friend zone you’ll want a look that looks flawless yet doesn’t make you look like you’re trying too hard.

This can be easily achieved with a nice bronzed eye.

Method:

Throw a nice bronze shade like the Mojave Eyeshadow Quad by Nars (RRP $80) through the crease and add a pop of shimmer to the inner corner of the eyes.

To give you that effortlessly sexy look, smoke out a brown eyeshadow from your lash line to create a sexy, sultry effect.

For the lashes throw on the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (RRP $37.00) and add the Napoleon Perdis Zinnia lashes (RRP $22) to add some drama without looking over the top.

Occasion: New Year’s Eve Clubbing

Objective:

For NYE it’s definitely socially acceptable to go all out on the eyes. We recommend opting for a sultry smokey eye.

Start by adding a neutral- toned transition shade into the crease, for example, Charcoal Brown by MAC ($33). Then slowly smoke out a black eyeshadow from the lash line into the crease so it blends evenly.

Then, why not go out in sympathy with the fireworks and add some sparkle by throwing some silver glitter into the inner corner of the eye. This will add some extra drama to the eye, whilst also brightening up the eye and adding dimension.

Finish the look with the Ardell Faux Mink mascara (RRP $19.99) and lashes in 810 (RRP $12.95). The mascara is designed to layer on top of itself or other mascaras, giving extra volume and thickness, while the lashes bring an extra intensity to the look.

Insider Tip:

Start by just adding a small amount of black eyeshadow and building it up so you don’t end up looking like you’ve been punched in the face.

Occasion: Sunday Brunch

Objective:

Sunday morning, the last thing you want to do is cake your face in makeup. So, this look is simple, yet elegant.

Method:

Even out the eyelids with a small layer of foundation or concealer – this will cancel out any redness or veins that might giveaway any of the antics from the night before. Add some nude or white eyeliner to the water line to brighten the eyes and make you look awake and thriving.

Lastly, paint the lashes with the Benefit They’re Real! Mascara (RRP$43.00) and add the Ardell Demi Wispies Lashes (RRP $10.99). The invisible band on the lashes make them look extremely natural, whilst the tapered design creates a feathered cat-eye effect.
