Finding the perfect foundation is not as easy as it looks. That’s why the Bondi Beauty team have shared the foundations that we rate that are all under $70.
The ideal everyday foundation should be the correct shade, correct coverage level and match your skin’s undertones.
Above all, it is highly important that the foundation is suitable to your skin type.
Here are what work for the beauties at BB, along with their skin types.
BB Founder – Renae
Skin type: Oily T-zone
IT COSMETICS – YOUR SKIN BUT BETTER CC+ CREAM OIL-CONTROL MATTE SPF 50 ($63)
This foundation is excellent for my oily skin, as it keeps it matte, and gives good coverage. Plus, it travels well. Easy for everyday wear and slips into my handbag. Love it. I do apply this with my fingers, and it works.
ESTEE LAUDER – DOUBLEWEAR STAY IN PLACE MAKEUP ($60)
This is my foundation when I am at home as travelling, the bottle breaks if I drop it which is annoying. It gives great coverage, and definitely looks best when applied with a brush, but I can use my fingers.
MAYBELLINE – FIT ME MATTE & PORELESS MATTIFYING LIQUID FOUNDATION ($21.95)
If I am on the run or forget my foundation when travelling, this is my go-to, and often I pick it up on sale for $12. It glides on, stays matte and gets me through any emergency situation.

THE ORDINARY – COVERAGE FOUNDATION ($12.90)
I am obsessed with The Ordinary’s foundation as it is flawless and has a natural finish.
It’s so reasonably priced at just $12.90 and has 21 shades to choose from.
I went into the Ordinary store to buy it, had a 5-minute consultation and my perfect match was found. It’s like a second skin!
Such a lightweight formula making it easy to apply and leaves a smooth finish.

Skin type: Combination / Oily
BEAUTY BLENDER – BOUNCE LIQUID WHIP LONG WEAR FOUNDATION ($61)
My go to foundation for a while now has been the Beauty Blender foundation that can be found at Sephora.
I have combination skin, which leans more towards the oily side of things.
This is the only matte foundation I have come across which works with oily skin, to not only balance it, but keep it hydrated.
Other matte foundations dry up my skin too much and flake. Not this one.

Skin type: Normal to Dry
L’OREAL – TRUE MATCH LIQUID FOUNDATION ($17.99)
This foundation can be bought from any chemist or supermarket and is my go-to budget foundation.
I’m quite fussy with foundation and don’t enjoy anything that’s thick and heavy, but I also don’t bother with lightweight BB creams.
This product is the perfect compromise between lightweight and high coverage, and it’s so comfortable to wear during hot Aussie summers.

Skin type: Oily
BENEFIT – HELLO HAPPY FLAWLESS BRIGHTENING LIQUID FOUNDATION ($54)
My go-to foundation is the Benefit liquid foundation due to its liquid consistency.
It blends into the skin really easily, and also has hyaluronic acid to keep the skin hydrated and it is great to keep the skin hydrated.
It’s great for combination skin types.

Skin type: Normal
FENTY BEAUTY – PRO FILT’R SOFT MATTE LONGWEAR FOUNDATION ($53)
Ever since I first got my hands onto the Fenty Beauty foundation in 2019, it has been my all-time favourite.
Finding the right shade to match my complexion has always been difficult for me, so when I found the perfect shade, I stuck to it.
Not only does the foundation apply effortlessly and beautifully, it is also non-drying and lasts all day.
It’s coverage is also worth noting. For hot summer days that cause the skin to be sticky, I tend to apply a light layer of foundation.
In winter however, I tend to go for a more full coverage look which is when I will build up the foundation.
The Fenty foundation is good because it works for both looks – both sheer and full coverage.
