Here are the buzziest foodie venues worth checking out. Whether you’re a local or just getting your bearings, make sure to add these hotspots to your list.
Beach season may be winding down, but Bondi’s food and drink scene is only heating up.
Besa, Hall St
The venue everyone has been talking about. Besa opened earlier this month and has been raking in glowing reviews since.
Launched by the ESCA Group, the team behind crowd favourites Aalia and Nour, Besa is backed by years of global culinary experience and a deep understanding of Sydney’s hospitality scene. This vibrant tapas bar brings the best of the Spanish coastline to the shores of Bondi. Ease into the menu with a tasty Gilda or a Mushroom and Manchego croquetta and expand your palette with dishes like the Fideuà Negra (squid ink egg noodles) with grilled chicken and aioli.
The 65-seat venue channels Madrid’s bustling underground scene with an energy emanating from the kitchen pass to the dining room floor. The intimate layout invites you to experience the Spanish approach to hospitality, where warmth and genuine connection sit at the centre of everything they do. Sit down and settle in, with the knowledge that you will be looked after.
DJ’s play Friday through Sunday. You’re whole night sorted in one spot.
Open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday from 5pm and lunch Friday, Saturday and Sunday from midday.

Two Slices, Bondi Rd
This iconic Perth sandwich bar has landed in Bondi and we are as excited as you are.
A long way from home, they fit right in. Two Slices Sandwich Bar, known as ‘the home of gourmet sandwiches’ knows how to construct a banging combo. But, they also know how to keep things interesting.
Their sandwich menu champions unbeatable flavour combinations — mortadella with pistachio or salami with pecorino and honey, but also introduces some less obvious pairings for those who like to change up their order. Explore the hot sandwich menu or swing past for a brekky number to start your day on the right note. Each sandwich is layered between two slices of their ridiculously perfect focaccia.
This year, the team has been working hard behind the scenes, expanding their offerings to specialty drinks and dessert sandwiches. If you’re tempted by the sound of an iced maple sea salt matcha or pistachio and mascarpone sandwich, Two Slices has your name all over it.
Perfect for a beachside lunch or a mass sandwich order to the office. Everyone will find their flavour here.
Open 7 days, 7:30-3:30pm.

Volume One, Curlewis St
At Volume One, less is really more.
Brothers Max and Oscar Dilke have paired up with their mate Drew Jones to rethink the Aussie cafe. The space is minimal, the layout open and the menu refined.
But this does not take from this venue’s personality. Instead, opening up a space for creativity. This is reflected in the menu, with crowd favourites like the sambal chilli oil scrambled eggs and chia pudding with mango puree, berries and macadamias. Fresh, satisfying and packed with flavour.
And it doesn’t stop at 3pm. Wednesday through Friday, this venue cranks up the volume, transforming into a lively bar and restaurant. The perfect spot for your first (or last) drink of the night.

Bistro Bondi, Warners Ave
Exactly what Bondi needed, an elevated and sophisticated bistro. This new venue brings a touch of Euro to the streets of Bondi.
Led by executive chef Isabelled Caulfied (ex Poly & Ester) and Head Chef Dan Anderson (ex Shell House), the kitchen is in very good hands.
Expect refined shared plates, specialty cocktails and comforting bistro desserts with a polished edge. Perhaps the star of the show, the salted coconut espresso martini. Those with a sweet tooth can find further indulgence in the form of warm nectarine and honey-buttered crepes.
Walk in or book ahead for a special occasion. Everyone is welcome here.

The Beekeeper, Hall St
A cozy English pub is perhaps what Bondi didn’t know it needed, but just in time for the cooler seasons, here it is.
Housed in Bondi’s oldest sandstone building, the heritage-listed Fellworth Flats, this venue leans into its 115-year history with warm, character-filled interiors. Think pressed metal ceilings, sash windows and a working fireplace. Created by the team at Northern Hospitality, it’s designed to feel like home, with a hearty menu and a pace that encourages you to settle in.
Experience some northern English comfort with pub classics like fish and chips (with malt vinegar, of course), Cumberland sausage and mash, and a good old Sunday roast. Pair it with a Guinness and good company for a cosy night out or a weekly tradition that will leave you feeling warm inside and out
So if you’re craving a slice of home or just after a pub with a bit more personality, book a table now – you’ll likely need it.

Raw Next Door
We thought Raw Bar couldn’t get any better – then came Raw Next Door (admittedly in 2021, but we’re still talking about it).
By day, home to Bondi favourite Harry’s cafe, but by night, this venue draws its own crowd.
This seaside Japanese izakaya serves up crowd-favourites with a playful touch – try the crispy sushi bites with salmon tartare or indulge with the pork belly, topped with a rich and flavourful maple and tamari butter. Pair with a Tommy’s marg in the classic Harry’s jar for something a little more fun.
Share plates may be the only thing causing problems here.
If you’re planning your next girls’ night, this is your spot.

Salumerie, Hall St
Sydney is deep in its sandwich phase, and Salumerie is leading the charge.
Bringing a slice of Naples to the streets of Bondi, this venue impresses in both its menu and effortless charm. With a stacked menu of deli-style classics like the caprese and spicy salami diavola, plus mouth-watering specials like the spicy vodka lasagne sandwich, this is the next must-visit to add to your list.
But, that is not all you’ll find here. Come 5pm, this venu becomes a groovy wine and aperitivo bar. Inside, you’ll find an artisan deli stacked with delicious cheeses, cured meats and thoughtfully selected wines. Looking for a date spot that will impress at all hours? You’re going to want to check out Salumerie.
Located in the Hub, we will warn you, it’s dangerously close to Messina for the perfect sweet finish.

Sundays, Bondi Rd
Chances are you have already seen the lines, or the pillowy cinnamon scrolls on Instagram. 22-year-old Leticia Leifti and her family are the backbone of this viral Bondi bakery.
After three months of tirelessly perfecting her cinnamon scrolls and documenting the often stressful process, Leifti has well and truly nailed it, building an impressive following along the way. It turns out Bondi had a soft spot for cinnamon scrolls and matcha lattes.
With a refined menu, Sundays speaks to Sydneysiders’ eyes and tastebuds with unbeatable flavours like pistachio, Biscoff and Kinder Bueno. But if you like to keep it simple, you won’t be disappointed by the traditional scroll – warm, fluffy and layered with cinnamon sugar, this perfectly glazed scroll melts in every bite.
Sundays are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and continue to draw in a crowd.
