For skin that needs a little bit of TLC.
Cleanser
If have sensitive skin, you will understand the importance of a gentle cleanser. It can be hard to find a product that clears skin from its impurities whilst not stripping it of moisture.
When choosing the right cleanser for skin easily irritated, it is generally advised to stay away from fragranced products and harsh chemicals.
The Origins ‘Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash’ (RRP $38.00) is paraben and cruelty-free and formulated with broad leaf extract to tackle oils and wheat protein to protect dry patches.
The consistency is light, and it froths up a lot as soon as you apply it with water on to the face. For best results, I apply the product using a cleansing brush. Vanity Planet have silicone brush which is designed to reject bacteria and helps achieve a deeper cleanse.
Vitamin B Serum
Vitamin B serum is the new super serum for pigmentation and skin inflammation. Thought of as the great multi-tasking cosmeceutical, by using Vitamin B the skin ‘learns’ to make more of its own moisture by strengthening its outermost layers.
The Vitamin B Serum by Synergie Skin (RRP $115) is formulated to increase the production of ceramides in the epidermis, making it an essential product for increased hydration levels, a luminous even complexion and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines.
Moisturiser
If you have sensitive skin, you will know it can easily become dry and irritated. That is why it is important to find a thick moisturiser that won’t block pores or cause inflammation. My Favourite is the Origins ‘Drink Up Overnight Mask’ (RRP $42). While technically an overnight mask, it doubles as a rich moisturiser. It dries clear and makes a great dewy base under makeup but also makes the skin radiant without looking greasy. The product is super gentle but locks in hydration so you can wear it throughout the day or overnight and wake up looking fresh.
Face Mask
The Lady Luxe Beauty Brightening Mask (RRP $22.00) has a dual-action formula that brightens and hydrates the skin leaving it more radiant and plumper.
Founder of Lady Luxe Beauty, Jess Nash, says, “lactic acid and apple extracts gently assist in brightening and smoothing the skin, while Vitamin C and amino acids help to reverse sun damage that causes uneven pigmentation upon the complexion”.
She recommends leaving the mask in the fridge before you use it so that it’s nice and cold when applied.
Sunscreen
Everyone knows the importance of protecting the skin from the harmful rays of the sun. It’s essential when preventing sun damage and fine lines.
Enter physical sunscreens; not only is Zinc Oxide a physical sunscreen which protects against UVA and UVB, it also ticks so many boxes for amping up skin health such as anti-ageing and reducing the appearance of fine lines.
Synergie Skin’s ÜberZinc (SPF 15 and PA+++) (RRP $115) will protect from 93.3% of UVB rays, offering only 3.4% less protection from burning rays (UVB) than an SPF 30 sunscreen. It’s a luxe moisturiser with built-in UVA and UVB protection and is guaranteed to be safe for the skin. Win, win!
Its anti-inflammatory action and can reduce skin redness and healing so it’s ideal for sensitive skin. Zinc Oxide is also a go-to for acne sufferers with its antibacterial and oil controlling activity.
