Here are five fab Bondi events for June to keep the winter chill away.
Just because its winter, doesn’t mean Bondi has completely gone to sleep. Here are some fun events for this month, and a great way to meet new people in the real world.
Prioritise self-care with a night of nudie painting at the Bondi Paint Club – with a drink in hand of course.
Learn the art of superfood sushi at a cooking class that teaches the immune-boosting benefits of healthy and fresh Japanese food.
There’s also a yin yoga class to celebrate the June new moon, a Bondi Beach Clean up for your environmental fix, and even a book club at your local Bondi Bookshop.
Discover these diverse Bondi events:
Located in their Bondi Junction Studio, Bondi Paint Club is run by a family of fifth-generation Bondi locals. Driven by a passion for creativity, the Paint Club shares the creative experience of painting with everyone. Striving for sustainability, you can donate old canvases or easels to reduce and reuse waste. Their monthly calendar has different events on offer, based on the painting choice of the evening. Getting involved in the Rudie Nudie night places body confidence on your canvas as an act of self-care.
11th June – Nimble Beach Clean Up – Sydney
In celebration of World Ocean Day, Nimble Activewear has organised a Bondi Beach clean up. Rise early, and grab a coffee (keep cup only!) and head down to the Bondi Beach Lifeguard Station at 9 am for an hour-long cleanup. By contributing to the health of our ocean and environment you will feel utterly fulfilled and satisfied. Invite a few friends for a weekly catch up, or socialise amongst like-minded people striving for pristine beaches. There’s a chance of winning their new sea turtle set for getting involved.
11th June – New Moon Yin and Sound Healing
Located at Flying Yogis Studio in Bondi Junction, this Friday evening yoga class is a mixture of sound healing and yin-yoga poses. New moons provide a sense of direction and grounding and this class focuses on creating intentions and removing negative energies to reap the benefits of this transitional period. The replenishing experience will allow you to attract the most beneficial outcomes for June.
17th June – Gertrude and Alice Monthly Book Club
Bondi Literary Salon Book Club is the monthly book club held at Gertrude and Alice on Bondi Beach. Hosted by Lucy Pearson, she is a Bondi local and writer of the book blog ‘The Literary Edit’. This month’s book club pick is the Transcendent Kingdom, a new novel by Yaa Gyasi. Enjoy a beverage and a little nibble when attending.
Held in Loft and Space, a beautiful event space in Bondi Junction. Learn the master of Sushi with chef Yoshiko Takeuchi. She has 20 years of teaching experience and two published cookbooks. The class teaches the secrets of Japanese health and longevity by specialising in Japanese superfoods. The sushi class is all plant-based, with Matcha tea served alongside.
