The team at Bondi Beauty trialled and tested the OPI X Press/On nails, the newest product in the nail and manicure space.
Nails like the OPI X are now a popular statement in the fashion and beauty space, acting as accessories to enhance and compliment outfits, occasions or as tiny pieces of wearable art.
However, manicures can be expensive, time-consuming and potentially damaging to natural nails. There are alternatives out there, but what options are still chic and wearable without the damage? Press/on nails seem to be the answer.
OPI, one of the largest global and most recognisable nail varnish and care brands have a line of quick and easy press-on nails, X-Press/On for those times where a salon manicure isn’t accessible.
OPI’s X-Press/On press on nail line promise 14-day wear, easy application with a seamless fit in a range of their most popular colours and shapes in a ‘gel-like and salon-quality’ product. They retail for $27 on Sephora.
The line includes colours like clean girl fan-favourite Bubble Bath, chic Alpine Snow and timeless Big Apple. Some options also have nail art and designs to bring back the ‘art’ element of professionally finished manicures.
The team at BB tried and tested the nails in for their wear and design. Here are their thoughts:

“I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and garden, so for personal reasons, I am never a huge fan of wearing false nails, as they get dirty too quick, fall off too quickly and damage often. I found these to be a lot stronger than products I have used in the past and managed to get a good 3-4 days of wear without me losing any.
They felt comfortable enough and the glue was strong enough to hold the nails into place. I will also admit, I have very small nail beds, so finding the right type of fake nails that are small enough to fit can be a pain.
This set by OPI actually had enough small ones to accommodate for my very small nail beds, which was a plus. They do almost look real, which I liked. They worked well, the nail glue is fine, and nails lasted several days without falling off.
I rate this product 8 out of 10.
My rating is purely based on me not being a personal fan of wearing false nails of any kind. I probably wouldn’t purchase again, which is not reflective of the product at all, just personal choice in preferring my own natural nails. Of all the fake nail products I have used so far, this would be the one I recommend.”

“These nails are a great option for quick, stylish enhancements, especially before my concert. The shape was not really convenient for my needs, but they did look fantastic.
The nails have a smooth finish and come pre-shaped, making them easy to apply. The adhesive is strong and effective, providing a secure hold during wear. While there isn’t a fragrance, the overall experience is pleasant.
I found the application instructions helpful, though applying them myself was a bit tricky. They lasted around 5-6 hours before starting to loosen, but considering the circumstances, they performed well. The sizing wasn’t perfect for my fingers, leaving small gaps that were slightly noticeable.
Whilst the sizing wasn’t perfect for my fingers, a standout feature is the variety of sizes provided. This selection makes it more likely to find a suitable fit, rather than just one or two options
While I wouldn’t buy these nails for everyday use due to the sizing issue, I would definitely consider them for special occasions where I want a quick and stylish nail solution.”

“As a huge sports enthusiast, these nails are a huge win. I can’t grow my nails out and so my nails are always short and not manicured. These solve those problems for me in an instant.
They’re so classy and chic with the French tips, making them a great addition to any outfit for an elevated look. For me, I look for longevity in products like these because despite only being able to wear them for a few hours at a time, I want to be able to use them over and over.
When applying them I did so normally, and to remove I soaked them in acetone to release the glue. They fell off easily and I was able to reuse them soon after. They also didn’t look damaged or worn, and when wearing again, the glue worked perfectly.
Because of the shape of my fingers there were some edges that didn’t completely fit my nails, but they did create the illusion of a lovely nailbed shape. The colour was close to my actual nail too, so they looked natural.
I was super impressed by these. I would recommend for a quick, at home manicured look that is easy to use time and time again. 9/10.”

“OPI X-PRESS/On Nails are a must have for girl who wants to look glam in a minute. This is a rescue for me to fix my nail in just moments.
They had a wide range of styles and sizes. I loved the one that I picked, it was simple and matched with everyday outfits. The press on nail fits so well with my nail and looked just like I’d had a manicure done!
I rate this a 9/10. The product was easy to use, came with easy-to-follow instructions that were simple to use. I would definitely re-purchase the nails. They’re an essential and easy for me to get my nails done quickly at home.
