If You Perform Enough Squats, The City of Moscow will Pay For Your Travel

Moscow pays your train fare if you do squats at the station

A Moscow train station is saving commuters wallets and building up their fitness at the same time.

One of the city’s subway stations is providing travellers with free tickets in exchange for 30 squats completed in less than two minutes.

In the lead up to the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, as an alternate to paying for their tickets commuters can perform the squats in front of a ticket machine with a built in squat sensor to receive free travel.

Alexander Zhukov, president of the Russian Olympic Committee, says “it is about involving everyone in the sporting way of life,” and it’s getting people talking, squatting and providing a welcome break throughout the daily grind.
