Fashion and fitness inspiration from Rosie-Huntington Whiteley

There’s no surprise Rosie Huntington-Whiteley works hard for her bod. She not only cuts it on the catwalk, at the gym she looks fab too.

Twenty-six year old Rosie Huntington-Whitely is currently best known for her striking Burberry campaigns and for being a Victoria’s Secret model, but the English rose works hard to look good.

She has spoken openly in the past about her challenges growing up in Devon where she lived on a farm, and was teased at school because of her body and surname.

“[In school] I was teased because I had no breasts and huge lips. And because of my double-barreled name, people thought I was super p-o-s-h, which is actually not the case,” she has been quoted as saying.  She has been naturally slim most of her life. “I can’t remember a time where I really battled with my body, but I can remember being asked to lose weight (as a teenager)  and battling with the advice. It hurt me. Especially as my baby fat naturally melted away as I got older.”

Her first job was a Levi’s jeans commercial when she was just 15 years old, and her career started from there. She says that fitness and health have always been important to her, and remain so to this day.

“Exercise is where everything starts for me,” she recently told Vogue Australia. On her days off, she indulges in any kind of fitness she can find; from surfing to hiking with friends or going to the gym.

The former Victoria’s Secret angel is also obsessed with yoga. “I’ve met an Australian girl, Claire Greaves, in LA, who comes from Melbourne and she’s been my yoga teacher for the last two years. I introduce her to people like, “This is Claire, and she changed my life.”

Whiteley is often snapped leaving the yoga studio wearing striking spliced 3/4 black tights. Tight clothes are always a good option for working out. They give more support, won’t catch on any equipment if you’re in the gym and look and feel sexier.

Gossip columnists say she works out super hard, no matter what the fitness. “I have the same attitude with work – I like to go to work, I like to work really hard, I like to give everything my all, I like to try things that are new, you know,” she says.

The already slim beauty works out in all black a lot. Dark colours emphasise slimness but are sophisticated at the same time.

That being said, a pop of colour is always refreshing and Rosie adds colour via bright shoes. Fluoro laces and bright Nikes are her favourite.

Her tip for sweaty gym hair? A trendy baseball cap, which also protects from the sun on the way in and out.
