Science knows what age us ladies will become our most boring

Science now knows what age you’ll reach peak boring…and it’s younger than you might think.

The study, by Airbnb Experiences, shows that we women will reach our most boring age at the still fairly young 35.

For men, they reach their most boring at age 39. And the age of 37 is the average boring age.

Further bad news?

It looks like those in the country won’t get boring for a little while after Sydneysiders.

According to the study, those in the capital cities will become more boring sooner as it showed Londoners becoming peak boring at 32, whereas those out in Wales not hitting their boring age until 41.

All of us at 35.

So, what are the reasons for this?

They are the ages that we start to settle down with a life partner and have kids.

Once you settle down and have kids, things like going out on a random Wednesday night with the girls and staying up till all hours of the morning become a little less feasible, because you know, responsibilities.

The study showed that 15 per cent of 30-39 year-olds admitted to becoming boring since being with their long-term partner, and 20 per cent said that their sense of adventure had gone downhill since having children.

The study also measured people’s sense of adventure, and these 10 activities were things that made people a lot more fun and less boring:

  1. Staying out until the early hours on a weekday
  2. Trying a new hobby
  3. Going out of the way to make a new friend
  4. Booking a spontaneous holiday
  5. Learning a new skill
  6. Visiting a friend unannounced
  7. Changing jobs
  8. Going on a spontaneous shopping trip
  9. Asking someone out
  10. Trying a new sport

Before you think this news is all a bit bleak, there is hope for you when you’re in your 50’s.

The research showed that those people over 50 were 22% more likely to book an expensive spontaneous holiday.

TBH we can’t think of anything better than revisiting Europe without the grotty hostels and cheap meals to know your still fabulous enough to go skinny dipping in the same beaches you did when you were 20.
