There are some pretty clear signs when a couple are ready for a major commitment.

The beginning of a relationship often feels like you are walking on cloud nine, you allow yourself to get caught up in the whirlwind of falling in love and every second is as enthralling as the last.

But when you take off those rose tinted glasses and his bad habits begin to seep in you may find yourself questioning if Mr Right is actually Mr Right now?

Marriage is the biggest commitment you will ever make so you have every right to labour over your decision.

If you are in a committed relationship and questioning your next move, here are 6 signs you’ve found Mr right.

 1) You’re happy

It may sound obvious, but in any relationship, if you aren’t happy the majority of the time then something is missing. Whilst it’s important to make sure your happiness begins within, your significant other should be raising you up and not dragging you down.

2) He’s your biggest fan

Is your man constantly bragging about you? Telling all his friends about your new work promotion or the amazing dinner you cooked last night?

If he’s got you set as his phone screen saver and battles with your mum for the position of your no.1 fan then give him a tick.

 3) He makes sacrifices

If he’s willing to move cities to further your career or eat at your favourite restaurant even though he hates the cuisine, then he’s proving that your happiness is his number one priority.

Relationships require a 50/50 give and take, never be the one making all the sacrifices or you will find yourself receiving nothing in return.

 4) He shares the same goals and values

If you’re on the same page when it comes to your future, you want the same things and share the same ideals then you are more likely to find success together within a marriage.

 5) He’s your best friend

You tell him everything, as soon as something exciting happens he’s the first person you call.

Whilst it’s great to have your girlfriends your man should always be your best friend, after all he is one you will grow old with.

 6) It’s not about a big white wedding

When you think about marrying him you don’t think of the thousands you’ll spend on the wedding, your thoughts aren’t focused on table centres or the design of your dress but rather you’ll think about spending the rest of your life with the man you love.

You may have been dreaming about your wedding day for as long as you can remember, but that’s not a reason to rush into marrying someone if you feel uncertain.

It’s important to remember that every relationship is personal and that doubts are a natural part of progression. He might not be perfect and he might not tick every box but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be a part of your future.

If you are still unsure, don’t rush into making a decision. Take some time to reflect, focus on yourself and consider what you truly want from your future.
