Pink Gives Us Hope

Pink Hope’s Pinky Promise Campaign.

The Pink Hope Pinky Promise campaign was officially launched By Elle Ferguson and Nadia Bartel with a fun-soaked slumber party inclusive of bubbles, laughter, and personalities inclduing Salle Obermeder, Pip Edwards, Liv Phyland, Tegan Nash, Lana Jeavons Fellows and Julie Stevanja.

This 2018 initiative was launched to encourage women to check in with any loved ones regarding breast and ovarian cancer and to make a #bffpinkypromise to ensure they get themselves checked out regularly, so they can be their best self and live their best life.

Studies have shown the likelihood to pass on a gene mutation to a child is 50%. If you inherit a BRCA Gene mutation your risk could be over 72% for breast cancer and 44% ovarian cancer. This issue has been raised by  of Angelina Jolie, who investigated her cancer risks and acted promptly to ensure a long and health future for herself and her family.

This pinky promise campaign aims to educate and support women, whilst raising awareness about the tools available to help assess personal breast and ovarian cancer risks. When you commit to the pinky promise through the Pink Hope’s Pinky Promise website, women are places on Pink Hope’s database to ensure they’re kept up to date with the latest health news and initiatives.

Across the country, women are holding each other accountable to their promises; whether that be for regular health checks, exercising, meditating or eating well. Every little change moves towards improved health.

To help celebrate the launch of this campaign, Elle Ferguson and Nadia Bartel invited everyone to capture a moment together on the night and spread the Pink Hope message of self-awareness and self-care.
