Is Weight Loss Really 80% Diet and 20% Exercise?

Tiffany Hall asks if weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise?

It’s an age-old question – is weight loss really 80% diet and 20% exercise? The answer you’re looking for is yes, diet is a vital part of losing weight. But this doesn’t mean you disregard working out completely. So, what does this whole 80/20 ratio even mean?

You can’t have one without the other

While diet is important to weight loss, working out is also essential to achieving a happy and healthy body and can’t be forgotten about. You can lose some weight without exercise, but you can’t lose weight if you’re significantly noshing more than you’re moving.

You don’t need an exact 80/20 ratio to tone up your body, but it’s important to focus on eating well most of the time. By combining regular shine sessions with healthy and fresh wholefoods, you don’t need to make dramatic changes or live off a low-calorie diet. I have had a pretty delicious time in my TIFFXO kitchen testing (or tasting) recipes and snacks that are made from whole, fresh foods so that you never feel like you’re missing out.

Fitness starts in the kitchen

We’ve all heard the saying “you can’t out-train a bad diet” and guess what, you can’t. It’s not as simple as heading to the gym and burning off the pizza and Oreos and Coke. As normal people with normal lives, we don’t have time to be at the gym 5 times a day to work off those indulgent moments. I’m sorry to say that all of your hard work slogging it out to burn calories is worthless when your food choices are ignored.

Sometimes your bod can resist weight loss when you start eating less, leading to a plateau. Working out is the best way to speed up your metabolism and break through the plateau. It strengthens your heart and your immune system, increases bone density, helps to ward off disease, increases your lung capacity, helps chase the kids around the garden and more.

The Wrap Up

What you eat matters more than how you work it off, but working on your fitness will push you past plateaus and help you achieve your ultimate goals. My program TIFFXO.com is a mix of strength, HIIT and flow to burn calories and lead to stored fat being used as a source of energy instead. Together with my delicious recipes and snacks, I’ve taken the thinking out of it so you can just live your best, healthy, happy and fit life.
