A plethora of media headlines are asking: Has Thinspiration Gone Too Far?
There are concerns the thinspiration trend (posting images lying down with a camera balanced on your chest, shooting your abs and legs) have gone too far, and could cause body image issues.
At Bondi Beauty, we agree that the imagery is revealing, but this is hardly a new thing, and why would one pose be highlighted over another?
Body image is a universal focus for women of all ages. It has for generations and will continue to be so.
We love our instagram, twitter and Faceboook accounts, but lets get real, many co-called fitness images have turned into soft-porn. Images of girl in linerie, knickers pulled down, g-string exposed are common place, and they’re not new.
Our opinion? Things have gone too far. Images of girl in tight fitness gear look great, tasteful imagery of women in swimsuits are also inspiring, but underwear? Call us old-fashioned, but not on social media please.
A great body takes hard work, we know. Keeping it is even tougher, which is why it is important to value it, value yourself and respect yourself.
