Food and Beauty Health Trends for 2019

2019 health and beauty trends

From gut health and skincare to sweet treats and more, these are the new health trends for 2019.

According to the Australian Organic industry, there’s been a sixty-two percent increase in people of the western world adopting a more planet loving diet.

Whether that be in the form of eating ethically sourced fruit, meat and veggies, avoiding gluten and sugar or using cruelty-free and vegan beauty products, a large percantage of people around the world have spoken. They are done abusing their bodies and the planet.

As awareness increases of what foods are being ethically manufactured around the world and which products are safe for the environment to use, it’s no wonder fifty one percent of Aussie shoppers identify with the brand mark of the Australia Certified Organic branding, which is often present in foods which are good for the body, the soul and for the planet.

And in Australia, such awareness is being noticed on a global scale.

Stats by Australian Organic show China loves our natural baby foods and formulas, Americans love our beef and lamb, Koreans are obsessing over our soya products and the Japanese can’t get enough of our nuts.

Australia really is leading the way in the organic market, creating an impact large enough where other countries are now following our health trends to adopt a cleaner, healthier way of living which will nurture our bodies and the planet.

Below is a list of the key trends paving the way for Australians adopting a healthier way of living.

BEAUTY:

For skincare and makeup, any product containing a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals seems to be a key selling point for most Aussies. Boosting skin health by treating both the inside and the outside is resulting in most Aussies (male and female) looking for products which can deliver both.

Pretty Mod and SUP are two new brands to hit the market.

Pretty Pod is a collagen designed powder or tablet form of vitamin containing all the essential ingredients needed to aid in optimum skin health. Ingredients like Biotin, Zinc, Vitamin C and Collagen, skin is bound to bounce back in time.

SUP is another vitamin brand who make tablets, powders and health shots which work to deal with any inside and outside issue, whether that be gut health or skin concerns.

There’s the Inner Glow Collagen Glow Boost supplement tablets for skin, hair and nail health or their Inner Glow Greens powder for helping the body naturally produce collagen the healthy way.

GUT HEALTH:

A simple google search will bring up an unlimited amount of data, research and findings from the last twelve months, where science is now starting to show how important our gut health is to our mental health, skin health and overall body health.

To help achieve optimum levels in the gut, to support you through stressful times, when you are sick (or to stop you getting sick) and even deal with the occasion night where you ate WAY too much and enjoyed too many glasses of wine, brands like Rochway Probiotics have identified the most efficient way to boost gut health is in the form of a drink, instead of popping a supplement tablet.

Their new range of Bio-fermented drinks are tasty and includes flavours like Ginger and Turmeric, Lychee or Blueberry and for those serious about their health, there’s also an Olive Leaf Extract and a Wheatgrass drink.

These drinks have been designed to either take a shot on the bad days for the ultimate hit and health boost. Or simply place as little as half a shot in a bottle of water and sip it slowly throughout the day.

NO MORE SUGAR

First it was gluten and now it’s sugar. More and more people are turning away from sugar and with brands like More and Sweet Nectar hitting our Aussie snack markets, it’s become even easier to say no to both Sugar and Gluten.

Of course, raw foods and treats are nothing new with many cafes around Sydney (and Australia) serving up a variety of different snack alternatives to unhealthy types of cakes.

MMMore is a brand who have not only created a stunning range of healthy yet sweet treats made from wholefood raw ingredients, with no gluten and no sugar, they have also created packaging which is completely compostable. Meaning, it will disintergrate in water and break down in the soil for the garden.

Sweat Nectar use natural fruits to flavour their sweets. From slices to protein balls, all sweets are made without sugar, are one hundred percent vegan and free from gluten and use delicious fruits for flavour and texture. An absolute winner for those special occasions.

NO MORE KALE PUFFS OR POPCORN

Kale is now out, and cauliflower is in. The organic market has seen a rising trend over the last few months, where people are ditching kale for cauliflower in both their meals and their snack foods. Swapping Kale Chips for Cauliflower ones. In America alone, there has been a seventy-one percent rise in the purchase of cauliflower over kale.

Popcorn is also being swapped for vegetable puffs and sticks, showing people are looking for healthier snacks to feed themselves and their families and looking for better alternatives to flavoured popcorn.

And although popcorn is not particularly unhealthy, they aren’t exactly nutritional, hence why people are now sourcing veggie chips, crisps, puffs and sticks.

Off the Eaten Path have created a fabulous range of puffs and sticks, made from pea and pinto bean, nuts and veggies, they have also created a range of legume puffs and sticks, all jammed packed with nutritional benefits.
