OMG! We love this; The best (And Healthiest) Dip In Less Than 10 Minutes

Avocados on a green two tone background

This guacamole with a twist will be a new favourite recipe.

Guacamole is one of the best dips, and it is healthy.

Avocados are nutrient rich, contain vitamins C, E, K and B6, healthy fats, folate and many more nutrients. These nutrients aid healthy skin, absorption of other molecules and boosts the immune system. Adding chilli helps promote weight loss and pain relief as well as containing vital nutrients such as vitamins A, C, B6 and K1. Lime, a guacamole staple, also provides health benefits such as healthy skin, aiding digestion, boosting immune system and helping weight loss. If these health benefits and the many others that guacamole promotes aren’t enough to make this the first choice dip, then the taste will.

Guacamole is an all-time favourite, but this recipe is a little different from the usual recipe, and it can’t be bought in store.

Adding toasted pepitas for a crunch and taking less than 10 minutes to make, it’ll be a household staple in no time. Pepitas are tasty pumpkin seeds that are a source of minerals such as iron, zinc and magnesium.

Guacamole has recently moved up in life from simply being paired with corn chips.

Now, guacamole has millions of uses and the sky is the limit for this versatile dip.

It can upgrade a humble baked potato or be a delicious addition to burgers and toast. Of course, it perfectly complements Mexican foods such as tacos and burritos.

This recipe is naturally vegan and gluten free, so everyone can enjoy it.

  3. Toast the pepitas on medium to low heat on the stove until they are just toasted and add to the bowl.
  4. Add the avocado, chilli and a pinch of salt.
  5. Squeeze the juice from the remaining lime wedges into the bowl.
  6. Gently fold until well mixed.
  7. Season to taste with salt.

This guacamole can be refrigerated for up to a day.

If a bit more zing is desired, try customising with these add ins:

  • Fruit: add in pomegranate or chop pineapple, mango or apple into small pieces.
  • Other chopped nuts: try toasted almonds, cashews and macadamias chopped into small pieces.
  • Cheese: soft cheeses add creaminess, try feta, goat or blue cheese.
  • Chilli: try different chillies for different tastes and spiciness, chipotle gives a smoky flavour.
  • Meat: bacon or chorizo add a richness.
  • Spices: try adding in cumin, paprika or coriander powder for flavour.
