A good skincare routine is essential to maintaining healthy skin. But, sometimes using great skincare products just isn’t enough to keep your skin clear.

By incorporating these delicious 7 foods into your diet, your skin will improve.

Salmon and Tuna:

Full of vitamin B and iron, both Salmon and Tuna help the body produce natural fatty acids and metabolise amino acids. These essential fats stop the skin from drying out and keep it well nourished.

Chia Seeds:

Chia Seeds are loaded with Omega-3 fatty acids, which help maintain cell membranes in the skin. This helps to protect the skin by keeping it well hydrated

Sweet Potatoes:

Deep coloured vegetables are known for their skin boosting minerals, such as sweet potato, beetroot and spinach. Rich in antioxidants, these mineral rich veggies will help skin cells reproduce faster and protect your skin from pollutions.

Almonds:

Rich in vitamin E, Almonds help maintain healthy skin and also help natural sebum reproduction in the body; which can act like a natural sunscreen. However, don’t ditch the sunscreen just yet, better to have both.

Sunflower Seeds:

Protect the skin from free radicals in the environment by eating a small handful of sunflower seeds a day. They are an excellent source of vitamin E, which helps create a natural barrier from harmful polluted environments.

Orange or Apple Juice:

Juice often gets a bad rap. However, if you drink the right ones, they can help your health. Not to mention keep you hydrated as well. Apples and Oranges are loaded with vitamin C, which is known for its collagen boosting.

Tip: Try making the juices at home instead of buying them. This way you know your drinking the real thing, without any hidden or added nasties or just eat the whole fruit.

Complex Carbs:

Did you know processed foods and white flour increases inflammation in the body and can cause acne to flair-up. Instead of eating white pasta and rice, try swapping these for brown rice and spelt pasta, which are lower on the glycemic index.
