Beer Yoga: 2017’s Hottest New Fitness Trend

After a successful year touring Europe and Australia, beer yoga has now launched regular weekly classes in London.

The idea behind this crazy new yoga experience, is to add an extra bit of relaxation to your yoga practice. By stretching out in your favourite poses, whilst sipping on your favourite brew.

Instructor Vinay, who teaches the beer yoga classes in London says: “Beer Yoga is the marriage of two great loves; beer and yoga. Both are centuries-old therapies used to help relax the mind, body and soul.

The joy of drinking beer and the mindfulness of yoga compliment one another, and make for an energising experience. We take the philosophies of yoga and pair it with the pleasure of beer-drinking, to reach your highest level of consciousness.”

Earlier this year, Bier Yoga from Germany toured Australia in Sydney and Melbourne, with a successful turn out of many people wanting to try out this crazy new yoga trend.

Each hour-long session held in Sydney and Melbourne, saw many yogis getting bendy in their yoga positions, whilst knocking back their favourite brew.

The team of Bier Yoga are made up of qualified yoga instructors, so don’t think you’ll get off easy in your yoga class, just because you get to drink a beer whilst doing yoga. This team of yogis will get you stretched, toned and limber, all whilst having fun holding a beer.

Beer Yoga in the UK is hosted by Funzing.com and the classes are held in a traditional British pub. The beer yoga class costs around £12; which includes your ice-cold beer.

Internationally known Yoga teacher, author and founder of Aim True Yoga, Kathryn Budig shows us how it’s done. Mixing beer with yoga

There are no permanent based beer yoga classes yet here in Sydney and Melbourne, keep an eye out. Just like London, they are soon to be setting up shop for regular classes to be held for those dedicated beer drinking yogis.
