At Home Fitness Hacks

Whether you are an absolute gym junkie or hoping to shock everyone with a snatched bod once you’re out of self-isolation, here are 3 amazing at-home work out hacks for you.

With the unsettling nature of what’s going on in the world, it is important to remember that exercise is one of the best ways to stay on top of your health, not to mention it can be an amazing anxiety reliever too.

When it comes to working out, I am definitely more of a novice, which is why I have brought on the expertise of one of the Bondi Beauty team members Tara McKenzie, a certified fitness instructor.

Hack 1: Create Your Own Gym

Most homes do not come equipped with an open-plan gym floor, so when it comes to using your space, it is necessary that you get a little creative.

Try using the different rooms in your home to create a make-shift gym layout.

This means, cardio in the lounge room, weights in your bedroom and stretches in the kitchen.

Setting up the equipment you have at home and sectioning off certain areas of your home to workout in could motivate you in the same way that walking into your local gym would.

Hack 2: Use What You Have

If you really think about it, there are actually several items that you already have at home that could double as exercise equipment.

Stairs are a great tool to help you work out.

Running up and down your stairs is a great way to get in some cardio if you don’t already have a treadmill or elliptical at home.

For strength training you can use your staircase to do push-ups, lunges, calf-lifts, stair hops and step ups.

Hack 3: Tack Advantage of Technology

As all gyms have now closed, now is the time to invest in a fitness app to keep you motivated to stay in shape while you are stuck at home.

One of our favourite apps to use was created by none other than the well-loved Aussie legend himself, Chris Hemsworth.

Chris created his fitness app Centr to provide users with healthy meal plans, guided mediations and of course a bank of expert-led workout videos to follow along at home.

The other fitness app we have been loving right now is called Redux Definition.

This app was created by a leading UK trainer by the name of Naz de Bono.

The app features guided fitness classes for boxing, stretching, cardio and sculpting, as well as hosting a wide range of healthy recipes to use at home.

The best element of Redux Definition is the community aspect where you can connect with not only other users but Naz as well.

Both apps are now free to purchase from the App Store in light of Covid-19.
