7 Gym Bag Essentials Every Woman Needs

There’s nothing worse than arriving to the gym and realising you forgot to pack a hair tie, your headphones, or a towel. Get organised with our BB team gym bag essential checklist.

Here’s seven of our gym must have items no woman should go without at the gym:

Hair ties – crucial if you have long hair and want to get in a quick lunch time workout. Your professional work ‘do’ won’t quite cut it for serious exercise, so be prepared to slick it back. Even if you come to the gym pony-tail ready, pack some extra hair ties in case they snap and break.

Headphones – Staying motivated to workout can be difficult, especially without a good playlist. Whether you’re doing light cardio on the treadmill or in for ready for a sweat-inducing HIIT session, a great workout track can often be the motivator behind that last rep, that new 1RM or that faster run.

Water bottle – Hydration is important all day, every day, but even more so when working out. Drink lots of water before, during and after exercising for optimal fitness as it keeps your body temperature in check and loosens your joints. It’s also a great excuse to show off your super cute drink bottle.

A towel – No matter if you’ve been a gym junkie for years or just learnt how to use the machines, we all know that gym etiquette 101 is to wipe down the equipment after you’ve used it. Don’t be left awkwardly using your shirt to wipe down the bike seat – always pack a towel!

Deodorant – It’s great that you worked up a sweat but not everyone else wants to be able to smell that you did. Always pack your deodorant to refresh post gym time and smell as good as you feel.

Post-workout shake – working out and protein shakes go hand in hand these days. When exercising, the most important time to take protein is straight after your workout. Your muscles will then soak up the nutrition for muscle recovery and growth. Try Healthyroo’s superfood protein, ZEST SLIM, formulated with Australian Certified Organic pea and brown rice protein, superfoods, essential amino acids and vitamins to improve muscle tone and increase overall health!

Snacks – whether you need a quick protein snack before your workout, or something to fill the gap after a workout, there are two new snack foods to hit the market this year, which the BB team are salivating over. They are the new vegan and gluten-free protein bars by Nuzest, and the new Quinoa Chips by Freedom Foods. Try the Salt & Apple Cider Vinegar – delicious.
