New Years Day is a time to look forwards and embrace the person you want to be.
Most research each year shows only around 8% of us stick to our resolutions, so keep things simple, and change not only your life but how you feel about the future.
1) Take up something new
Whether it is a cooking class, salsa dancing, Tai Chi or meditation, a new hobby, activity to fitness routine is a great way to kick off your new year feeling good and feeling positive about your future.
2) Focus on honesty
We live in a fast paced world where we all get caught up focusing on the wrong things at times, and can end up not seeing things for what they are and not being honest with ourselves. Start by being honest with yourself about who you are and what you want from life, then focus on those around you.
3) Improve your communication
Be it at work, doing fitness or in your personal life, great communication is the key to just about everything. Say what you feel and let those around you know on a regular basis, and watch your ice change.
4) Change your routine
The way you get to work each day, the food you have for lunch or the local submarket you visit are all part of your daily or weekly routine. A change can inject new energy, new people and a new vibe.
5) Cut the sugar
We all eat more sugar than we realise, and reducing sugar is a great way to improve all aspects of your overall health. The easiest way to start is dropping processed sugar after 3pm, so no bread, pasta or cakes or desserts, then gradually moving that into your whole day.
