Bio Sculpture Gel: The Latest Nail Trend

Want healthy nails that are on trend? You just need Bio Sculpture Gel.

For years, women have been going to nail salons across the country and not really knowing what nasty chemicals they’re dipping their fingers into.

Some love a weekly tidy-up mani and pedi, others are into acrylics (hello, coloured tips and diamonds on the ring finger), or maybe you’re a shellac-kinda-girl.

Nails react differently every time, but too often than not, they end up feeling dry, thin and downright unattractive thanks to all the toxic chemicals involved.  That’s where Bio Sculpture might just be your saviour.

A couple of weeks ago we were introduced to Bio Sculpture in Sydney.

The South African found company has been around for over 25 years, and have a fast-growing celeb fan-base – Katy Perry, Iggy Azalea, Mel B and Victoria Beckham to name a few.  Available in more than 180 colours across 40 countries.

“Nothing infuriates me more than paying for a manicure that peels or chips within days. Bio sculpture absolutely trumps any other product out there. It delivers seriously beautiful, strong, lasting colour that doesn’t damage the nail and a polish that looks immaculate for weeks. I love it!”

– Erika Heynatz – Actor, Presenter, Model

What is it?

Bio Sculpture Gel was founded by Elmien Scholtz, a cosmetic science student with a vision to create a perfect healthy nail system. She found that the nail products and techniques being used at the time were full of acrylics and toxic chemicals and believed that there had to be a better way to create long lasting nails that are still healthy underneath all the layers. After years of scientific research, she came up with the solution – Bio Sculpture Gel.

With a five-star health and safety rating the brand screams health benefits. All the products are free from harsh chemicals like acrylics, toluene and formaldehyde – that includes the products used to remove the gel afterwards, ensuring nails are left looking and feeling fab.

How does it work?

The secret to Bio Sculpture Gel is its ability to bond naturally to the nail, meaning no bonders or primers are required. They start with two layers of the gel formula, followed by two layers of colour and then a top coat.

After all that, nails feel thick, strong, protected and ready to take on just about anything. Just like shellac, they dry in under a minute thanks to clever UV nail lights so you don’t have to worry about smudging when you grab your bag to pay.

How can they help me?

Bio Sculpture has a gel for every type of nail depending on the condition. Different lifestyles and jobs impact our nails so whether you want flexible or solid gels, Bio Sculpture treatments are tailored to suit.

Broken nail? No problem. Similar to acrylics but only a healthier option, Bio Sculpture can be used to lengthen or repair broken nails. The gel used feels durable and blends in with the rest of your nails so you don’t even know it was broken to begin with.

They last a minimum of three weeks on the hands and six weeks on the feet, perfect for busy women who can’t get to the salon as often as they’d like. What I thought was great is that you’re able to change the colour without having to remove the gel completely.

All nail polishes are available to buy for $19.95 so you can take them home and change to match any outfit, any occasion. Polishes too are toluene free, DBP and formaldehyde free.

Where can I get it done?

Unlike regular nail care brands that allow anyone anywhere to use their product; Bio Sculpture nail technicians must complete a Bio Sculpture Gel Training Program to purchase Bio Sculpture products.

This ensures they are used correctly and to their true potential. They have an extensive range of products and treatments available. From lotions and cuticle oils, to nail art and spa packages.

To find your nearest salon that offers the Bio Sculpture treatment, call 1300 BIO GEL (1300 246 435) or visit www.biosculpture.com.au.
