Any easy how-to guide to make the switch to natural beauty products.

Using natural beauty products may seem overwhelming at first, but there are simple things to do and look out for, to help transition smoothly into ditching toxin-based beauty products, for more natural-based ones.

When starting out, the important thing to remember, is you don’t need to spend lots of money.

When natural beauty products first started out, they were often associated with a hefty price tag, making them out of reach for many younger consumers who couldn’t afford to purchase them.

However, with the increased consumer demand for more natural based beauty products, many cheaper brands have now jumped on board the natural band wagon, recreating their products to be less toxic and more affordable than ever.

Hitting up a local Priceline store and now even Coles and Woolworths supermarkets is the best way to start, as they now retail some great natural beauty brands, at an affordable price.

Here’s some insider products to get you started:

Sukin Anti-Pollution Facial Masque – $17

The mask is made from bamboo charcoal, rooibos tea and willowherb which targets impurities and keeps pores clear. Added ingredients like bilberry, white tea and pomegranate impart antioxidants for a healthy glow, while quince aids in limiting shine and reducing the visible appearance of pores.

Essano Superfood Skincare Trial Pack – $25

This is a great introductory start kit for anyone making the shift into natural beauty products. The pack includes a gel cleanser, day moisturiser, facial oil and night cream; all made from delicious superfood ingredients like kale, cinnamon and turmeric.

Another way to help transition into natural beauty products is to get familiar with harmful toxins often found in many products which are not natural.

Look out for the following harmful ingredients and stay way from any products containing them.

  • Lead and Mercury
  • Parabens
  • Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS)
  • Mineral Oils
  • Palm Oils
  • Perfumes
  • Sulfates
  • Petroleum

Check the brands you already use, and if they don’t contain any of the above harmful toxins, you may already be using natural beauty products without even knowing.
