The Phyto herbal mini peel facial gives amazing results.

Treatment: ‘Phyto’ Herbal Mini Peel treatment by Alex Cosmetics

Venue: Face Plus Medispa, Bondi Junction, Sydney

The venue is a little medical, but that was fine for the treatment, and made me feel as if the results would be good (which they were).

Experience:  A herbal mask is put on which smells heavenly if you are into natural fragrance. It tingles a lot,  and I can imagine the tingling may freak out some people, but I didn’t mind it. The bizarre thing is the tingling lasted another 24 hours after the treatment – and you cannot swim or shower after it either. But I still enjoyed the whole thing.

Results: The results were first class. This is definitely the facial treatment I would have before a special event, and it would definitely be great for brides.  My skin is still glowing 2 weeks later, and lots of random people have commented that my skin looks fresh and super clear.

Price: From $185

The Darling Spa is Sydney’s versions of heaven.

Treatment: The La Prairie skin caviar lift facial

Venue: The Darling Spa

Experience: The venue at The Darling Hotel is simply stunning. Think slick, black, stone interiors with low key music, herbal tea and staff who speak softly, and touch gently. The massage rooms are simple, but the treatments are sublime. The 90 minute facial included extensive facial massage, and my therapist performed reike on me, as she said she felt I was carrying stress ( no kidding!) whilst the facial mask was on my face, which I loved.

Results: The La Prairie product range is indulgent, and works. The massage within this facial really helped plump up skin and smooth wrinkles and fine lines. I haven’t bene as relaxed as I was when I left for a long time. I was so chilled driving home I almost felt intoxicated.

Price: $280 (90 minutes)

A Babor Facial is a luxe experience.

Treatment:The Babor Spa Facial

Venue: The Langham Hotel

Experience: The venue is relaxing, although the limited 2 hour on-street parking is a hassle which disrupted the treatment for me. The treatment itself was relaxing and included extensive facial massage, and the application of Babor products, which are luxe, effective and leave skin supple and enriched with moisture. Babor are famed for their ampoules which transform skin quickly, as the ingredients are kept air-tight, so super fresh.

Results: The Babor facial massage was the highlight, as facial muscles felt taught and refreshed. My skin glowed, and I felt chilled for the rest of the day.

Price: $200 (60 minutes)
