Coconut Oil Is Out and Canola Oil Is In

Canola Oil in your beauty routine

Forget using coconut oil in your beauty routine, canola oil is stealing the spotlight s a natural skincare product.

As canola oil is rich in vitamin K and E, it makes for a great natural alternative to most skincare products when seeking to help cure dryness, skin irritations or any other concern.

There are multiple ways to use canola oil and it has nothing to do with cooking would you believe. Yes, that’s right. Canola oil is stealing the spotlight from coconut oil and many people in the beauty industry are getting excited about this humble little oil.

For The Hair:

If you suffer from split ends (even after a haircut) or have a dry scalp, canola oil is all you need to help repair and restore your scalp and hair back to its natural healthy self.

Before showering and washing hair, massage a decent amount (but don’t overdo it) of canola oil into the scalp for dry scalp concerns or into the end of the hair for dry and split end concerns and let it sit for at least thirty minutes – no longer.

Once the thirty minutes is up, wash out with your normal shampoo and conditioning, shampooing twice to remove the oil properly from the scalp and hair, and follow with a hydrating mask to lock in all the moisture.

Do this twice a week for a month for noticeable results to the scalp and hair health.

For The Body:

So many people suffer from skin irritations, whether caused by something they ate, the weather or from the clothes they wear, there are easy ways to help combat skin irritations, without using chemically laden products.

Before showering, rub a small amount of canola oil all over the body and let it soak into the skin for at least thirty to forty-five minutes. The oil will penetrate deep into the skin cells and work to repair and restore and damage and also work as a barrier against future irritations.

Shower off the oil using a gentle body wash which is soap and chemical free and make sure to follow with a chemical free and gentle body moisturiser to lock in all the yummy goodness from the oil into the skin.

For The Face:

As canola oil is rich in vitamin K and E, two essential vitamins beneficial for reducing skin inflammations and even quicken the healing process of blemishes and acne, using canola oil on the face has also shown results in reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

After cleansing, mis a small amount of canola oil with either a geranium or rose essential oil (make sure the essential oil is pure and not mixed with any carrier oil) and apply daily to the skin, especially of a night time, to help combat the signs of ageing and heal acne and blemishes.

For lips, try mixing a little melted beeswax with canola oil and let it set. Once dry, apply to the lips for extra hydration and to heal any cracked or split lips.

We recommend using Edward’s Cold Pressed Canola Oil which has been naturally made without the use of any chemicals. It has been naturally filtered to, making it mild to taste and easy to use introduce into your beauty routine. RRP is $9 from all Woolworths stores across Australia.
