The Latest Hair Trend You Will Love

We spoke to Tony & Guy’s Australia’s Creative Director, Katy Reeve to get the scoop on the latest hair trends taking over your gram feed.

You may have noticed a lot of your fave celebs and insta crushes rockin’ a look that is a blast from the past – The Posh 90’s Part – it’s making a comeback baby!

Katy Reeve has created a step-by-step guide on how to achieve any variation of the Posh Part so that you too can look as fly as Bella and Gigi Hadid, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Katy DeGroot aka Lustrelux.

BELLA HADID

This super strong, sleek look is a true representation of the 90’s trend.

  • Getting a super sleek tight ponytail can be hard, make sure you prep the hair straight first, so the ponytail doesn’t have bumps or waves
  • Separate the front sections out and put in a middle part in
  • Use a wax through the hairline and comb through to get any fly away hairs, we recommended Label m “fashion editions” wax spray
  • Brush hair upwards into a high ponytail, use a “bungee” band to secure as it’s easier to attach
  • Re-straighten the ponytail
  • Using the wax spray and a hairspray, flatten the front 2 panels and tuck or pin behind the ears

ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY

For a super soft 90’s vibe, keep a lighter dustier feel to the texture.

  • Prep hair with a tong for movement
  • Section out the front and tong away from the face for a more flattering effect
  • Using a texture spray or dust, we recommend label m Texturizing Volume spray, add the desired texture
  • Using fingers for more softness rake the hair into a high ponytail and secure
  • Wrap the ponytail into a bun if desired
  • Separate the front panels and finish with hairspray

 GIGI HADID & KATY DEGROOT

This is a perfect style to turn a “bad hair day” into a “great hair day”.

*When your hair is dirty you often get a better texture and a more “lived in” style*

  • If your hair is too greasy use a dry shampoo to absorb any unwanted oils or smells, I recommend label m Brunette Dry shampoo which won’t create a dusty finish on dark hair
  • Using your fingers take two small sections at the front hairline, the size of a fringe section, put in a centre part
  • Brush your hair to the top of your head and secure in a top knot or messy bun
  • You could use an iron or tong through the front for more wave, we recommend the GHD Gold iron
Amie Maclaine

Amie is a self-professed make up addict with a larger perfume collection than anyone in the southern hemisphere. There’s not a night of the week you won’t find her without a face mask on, and cup of peppermint tea in hand. With a passion for all things food and wellness, she’s the first to jump on a new heath trend. If she’s not rocking one of her well-loved rugby jumpers, you’ll find her in her active wear, Almond Dirty Chai in-tow, ready to take on the day.
