A Hair Care Revolution: Pantene’s Micellar Shampoo

Pantene Micellar Range

Pantene has launched a ground-breaking new range of haircare products using micellar.

We’ve all heard about micellar water for skin, but Pantene has just revolutionised the hair-care world by releasing a range of micellar shampoos and conditioners.

Bondi Beauty has trialled and reviewed the ground-breaking products.

But first, what exactly is micellar, and what makes it the holy grail of skin and hair care?

What is micellar and how do micelles work?

Micellar is essentially nature’s soap. Micelle molecules act like magnets that draw dirt and oils out of the hair or skin without drawing out moisture.

Micellar molecules are a form of surfactant. Surfactants are molecules which are used in detergent products and to help break down oils.

If you poured some oil in a glass of water, the two liquids would separate, because oils and water repel each-other. But surfactants are able to combine with both oil and water to break down the oils and allow them to be washed away.  In much the same way you need detergent to break down oils to wash grease off a cooking pan, micelles are the most effective way of breaking down and washing away excess face and hair oils.

How do Pantene’s Micellar Shampoos Work?

While most detergents are of course too harsh for use on the body, micellar water contains surfactants that are safe and effective for use on the skin and hair. Micelles draw out oil and dirt like a magnet without stripping the skin or hair of its essential nutrients.

Pantene’s new micellar hair products use micellar water for its cleansing and hydrating properties. They are also completely free of parabens, silicones and dyes, which are damaging to the hair’s natural nutrients.

Pantene’s micellar range is therefore able draw impurities out of the hair without sacrificing hydration, leaving it thoroughly cleansed without being stripped of essential nutrients or weighed down by heavy conditioning products.

Pantene Micellar

There’s a reason micellar has taken over the beauty world over the past 12 months, and Pantene is now leading the way in taking micellar’s beautifying powers into the hair care industry.

Pantene’s micellar shampoo and conditioner are available now for $13 each from Woolworths.
